I know, that this is going over old news. But seriously, do you guys think tyson was afraid going into the fight with lewis? On the walk in, he didnt have that usual look that he has with confidence. I think he was using heavy coke at the time.

Utter nonsense, just like the bogus talk that Bowe was "afraid" of Lewis. Tyson was, however, washed up by the time Lewis faced him.

I doubt that Mike was afraid of Lennox.

No,he wasn't afraid he was just nervous,it was the most biggest fight in his career maybe outside of Holyfield II but the most biggest in recent time and like any man he was nervous.
If you watch after he got in the ring during the introductions he looks at Lewis with a killer face, sign that he was in his ''groove'' by then.

    Not scared.......

Probably knew he was getting an ass whipping and was therefore nervous.

Whether or not Tyson was scared, or just nervous depends on how deluded he was at the time.

Surely every fightersis nervous right before the start of a fight? That is a good thing, sharpens the senses, prepares the body.

nah, he was British, so like all great British fighters (Ditto Haye, Eubank, Benn, Calzaghe, Hatton) he was overloked by the vast majority of Americans, thus, no entry into 'the club'.

I saw a documentary where Lennox mentioned that he and Tyson actually knew each other even before they became professionals. Lennox claimed that they already fought before they became professional boxers and he beat Tyson when they fought. Lennox went on to claim that Tyson was afraid to fight him when they were already professional boxers.

Tyson was scared shitless of Lewis.

Ducked Lewis in 96, then trying fighting scrubs from 2000 to mid 2002 when he was the mandatory to Lewis' belts. **** Lewis has to go to court to force the challenger to fight him :rofl when it should be the other way around.

He is trying to get out of the fight during the presscon.

He himself said during the interview that if Lewis tries to intimidate him, he will put a gun to Lewis's head or something like that. If that doesn't sound like a scared person, I don't konw what is..

In the walk in, Tyson looks like he hasn't slept the night before the fight - knowing his nightmares are coming.

The first round of that fight was the most nervous & agitated Lewis had ever been in the ring. Even old Tyson could give them shitstains.

I don't blame him given how crazy Tyson is. He could bite you, foul you, etc. But Lewis knew if Tyson plays by the rules, Tyson will get KTFO.

You people just sling this crap all the time don't you. Lewis took a PAYOFF to NOT fight Tyson in '96. He never fought Bowe and waited til Holyfield was old to face him. Curiously, the other guys managed to fight each other when it mattered. Lewis waited til they were ready for the taking.

Yes, Tyson was afraid of Lennox. Tyson couldn't shake Lennox at all and he knew it. When you are built up to be the baddest man on the planet and everyone is afraid of you, and you are also an insecure person by nature, then when someone comes around that doesn't blink when you snarl if seriously ****s up your mind.

Tyson has been a drug addict most of his life, that is a non-issue. The reason he had a problem with Lewis is because he had a problem with bigger men in general. Even if you can't read fear in a man's body language, anybody who knows a little bit about boxing should have been able to see that Tyson was fighting like a complete idiot against Lewis. That was not what Cus D'Amato taught him to do. If you go back a review the video you will see that Lewis was scared of Tyson! Lewis was performing so poorly he was starting to resemble Wladimir Klitschko. for round after round Manny Steward was imploring him to finish off Tyson, but like Klitschko he was too scared to get the job done early.
