Shaw wasn't expecting Donaire to KO Darch

yep. shaw's star was definitely darchinyan, not donaire. donaire didn't only kill his golden goose but also added insult to injury by flying off from his coop to join arum.

I think Donaire had no choice. It seem that after the KO, Shaw wasn't giving Donaire any fights hoping to acquire some ring rust then throw him in again with Vic for the redemption.

Vic has made no secret of the fact he wanted to fight Donaire again..He said this immediately after he lost and it was widely reported in the Aussie press after the Catubay and Gorres fights when he still had no clout in the division.

This is totally the domineering Shaw making this call.He is bitter and he is a ****, so he doesnt want to grant Donaire the rematch at his meal ticket..
He probably fears Vic will lose aswell but I truly believe Vic would not have a problem rematching Donaire. Its just Shaw is in his ear telling him its not the fight he should be calling for.
Vic can border on arrogant and often just plain is, but he really does not seem scared to fight anyone and is very confident in his abilities.
Its a shame..it will hurt Vic in the long run if he doesnt face Donaire again but the short term riches that Shaw will bring will see him stick with Gary for at least a while.

What would happen if Donaire beats Montiel? It is Vic who will run out of options to avoid Nonito.

    Thats about spot on mate..

Hell is more likely to freeze over - than Darchinyans is to be scared
of taking on anyone, a very confident - and as mentioned 'arrogant'
bloke - who would fancy himself in a rematch..

Rematch could go either way aswell, would be a great fight.

When have I ever been a Darchinyan hater?

I'm not a fan of Donaire, nor have I ever been. Darchinyan has proven that he'll fight whoever is put in front of him though.

I don't know why I'm even bothering responding.

Congratulations Finito, you're the first person ever to make my ignore list.

Yup, that the real reason. Shaw didn't hide his dipleasure at Donaire when he KOd Darch to claim his 112 belt. Shaw was preparing Darch for bigger fights and got Donaire for a tune-up. Obviously he underestimated Nonito who was also in his stable then.
