i think he has gone up to hw had one fight and gone straight in for the top to test himself. if he loses i think you wont hear from him again unless it is a close sd loss. if he gets ko`d or loses by a large margin he will be gone. what do you reckon????
kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place, he wont be able to go back down, but wouldnt be able to take a title, he would just have to make money beating cans
I doubt he will retire. He will just learn from his mistakes and try and come back stronger. If he fights and gets beat by one of the Klitschkos this year then it actually will not be that bad. Yes it will be embarrasing for him after he has talked so much but all's most objective fans will say, and im sure Haye will convince himself of it, was that he tried running before he could walk in the HW division and maybe having a few fights before taking the Klits on would have been better after all. He will then go away and lick his wounds, learn from his mistakes and work his way back into a title shot like everyone else.
Depends how it happens.A one shot ko or close points decision, he'll stay. If he's completely outclssed - that is, broken down, clearly outboxed, battered from pillar to post, he'll retire.
If he loses to a Klitschko there's always the WBA title to go after. 3 failed attempts at the big one didn't stop Frank Bruno achieving his dream of winning a World Title even if it was short lived.
Disagree. If he doesn't feel that he can learn from the loss, beat Wlad in a rematch down the line and be number one, he'll retire. he has a decent amoun of money. he's in it for glory as much as the dough. hat's why I think a loss won't deter Haye, but a beating will.
If he retires, I'll question his heart. A real champ knows how to bounce back from a loss ala Leonard. But if he quits, I'll question his heart, and I'll know that the onlything he really wanted to do was beat the Klits, not be known as a great HW
This is why he should try to beat some top ranked HW's before fighting for a title. At least he will make some money before he loses.
I dont think he will lose but if he does I think he'll go back to cruiser. its too soon for him to quit. or maybe he'll keep trying for the heavyweight title until he turns into holyfield (the old version)
NO WAY!! NOT THE HAYEMAKER! if he loses to Wlad, he will get up again and keep trying till he is the undisputed champion of the world. Haye CAN and WILL do it
I wouldn't question his heart for retiring. If he really believes that he can't be number one, then it shows courage in that he can admit it. If he knows he can do better and win, then he would come back. Lennox said something interesting about hatton after he lost to PBF. If he doesn't believe that he has the ability to bounce back and beat PBF, then he should retire. For guys like Lennox and Haye it's about being the best. I respect that.
