and then avenges his loss in a with 2 wins in a trilogy, do people think that it would enhance his reputation more than if he beats haye in the summer assuming the fight takes place?

i believe it does especially if he loses to haye after putting in a good showing of himself, but haye is just the better man on the night, ie able to get past the jab and land some good shots

what dont you understand, do you think a loss the haye and then avenging his loss and possibly winning a trilogy against him, will make wlad look better than if he were to just beat haye in the summer

It might in a way, depending on how it ended. If Haye got in a tremendous shot and got the early KO, then Wlad returned the favor, it would probably help Wlad. Yeah his chin would be "exposed" again, but we all knew that anyway, and he would prove his mettle with the return bouts.

On the other hand, should Haye get a late TKO or a decision, Wlad's overall ability would be questioned, and with good reason. Why couldn't he land a good shot with all those rounds, especially since Haye is not known for his chin either?

Oh, now I get what you're saying. Ummm, it would only make Wlad look worse, cause he's supposed to beat Haye

morales beat pacman 1st fight, then pac man avenged his loss twice and that definately added to his legacy, is wlad beating haye 2 out of 3 much different?

I'd say for sure... Fighters are usually only deemed "great" when they engage in some dramatic back and forth wars... overcome adversity, dig deep etc. As long as they win more than they lose in the end, a loss is not a bad thing.

How many people rate PBF with his spotless record over guys like Ray Robinson or Ali even with their losses?

I doubt that Haye will be able to beat Wlad in the first place. Haye has exceptionally fast hands (especially for a heavyweight), but he has vastly overated footwork and head movement. I seriously can't see him getting away from Wlads jab on a consistent basis which ultimately will e his downfall.

As far as the question goes, i'm not sure if it will enhance his legacy or not. Wlads always had his critics and they'll most likely point to the fact that Wlad got beat by a blown up cruiserweight, rather than giving him his due and congratulating him for avenging a loss.

Nonetheless, a trilogy would provide for a great spectacle, especially if all three matches are competitive, it's about time that we had some entertaining heavyweight matches.

Haye shouldn't really beat Wlad but he has better chances than given credit.

    Interesting.
I say yes it does... If Wlad beats Haye, I'm afraid he will get little credit for beating a guy who is coming up in weight. Wlad is the favorite to beat Haye; if he does it, people will say it's because Haye did not have the goods at heavyweight.
If Haye beats Wlad, it establishes Haye's credentials as a true heavyweight force. Then if Wlad beats him, he's beaying a real heavyweight rather than a percieved "blown up cruiser". He's also avenging a loss, which looks good on the record books.

There will also be drawbacks. I'm not sure Wlad can afford another loss for a long time. He's already lost to some pretty medicre people. Another loss will look bad, and suince he's not aold enough to claim any form of shotness, those accumulated losses will reflect badly on him.

You are basically correct in what you are saying, in that Haye is simply not that good, and has been massively overhyped.

Wladimir can only beat Haye because Haye is not a genuine heavyweight and most likely never will be.

David "Hype" Haye has always simply been shooting his mouth off to get a big pay day.

He knows he will most likely lose if he fights any other top 10 heavyweight anyway, so if he's going to lose it might as well be for $2M rather than $200K!

Smart business move, but he loses respect and could well end up a whipping boy in the division after his loss to Wladimir!

    regards

smart post, i agree. altho, at this point , wlad cant afford another loss if he wants to truly establish legitimacy, which he might be on the cusp of doing if he beats povetkin adn haye convincingly.

the rewards of keeping his current streak going far exceed anything a trilogy with haye would bring.
