Gamboa Knocked DOwn

It happens. Reminds me of another great PR fighter in Trinidad. Not so much the way that he fights... but by the way that Tito was also vulnerable to being knocked down early, but he usually always got up to win. Gamboa definitely has all of the tools, he has a very exciting style. However, he is going to really be in trouble when he fights the top notch guys if he doesn't keep those hands up, and become just a tad bit more defensive minded.

 

gamboa got KD'd again?! hasn't he been KD'd in each of his last 3 fights? the guy has to learn to keep his hands up especially with that shaky chin of his. linares will make him pay for that.

if he is getting knocked down on ESPN by these bums imagine what is going to happen to him when/if he fights on HBO or Showtime against better competition. His Glass Jaw is going to get shattered. Gamboa is a KO waiting to happen.

 

Funny thing is before I even read your post I knew you were gonna be talking about glass chins. Why are you so obsessed with chins?

 

I wouldn't go that far. Things like this often happen to very talented, up and coming fighters who are overzealous.

Felix Trinidad?

 

Trinidad was getting knocked down by much better fighters than Gamboa and not on ESPN either.

 

Tito and Oscar have been dropped by no name fighters and came back to destroy their opponents. Oscar has not had anymore problems and that is with much more better opposition. Tito has been dropped by good and like I said no name fighters.

 

Byrd seemed to be there to help protect Gamboa's KO record, stopped the fight for no reason w/only 43 seconds left to go. Gonzales was not hurt at all.

that's going a little to far, gamboa was putting a flat out beating on the kid, look it shouldn't be stopped, but I have no real problem in it, the other kid was going to win.

 

normally i dont entertain his comments but, this time i think he's absolutely right....

this guy is getting dropped by bums, left and right.......most P4P superstars, who have less then stellar chins dont really start getting dropped as much as he does until they hit world class, but this guy is still fighting the bums of the division

he would get ate up by Chris John, and played with by Steve Luevano, i dont know who the other titlest in this division are but for Gamboas sake, lets hope they're nowhere near as good as these 2
