Yeah, Roy got knocked out when he was 35 years old at 175. Nice try. Benn got iced by a jab from Watson. Jones would have brutally taken Benn out. Roy had too much speed, power, and was elusive enough that Benn wouldnt land his big bombs. Benn would have a puncher's chance against Hearns, but in all likelyhood, Tommy knocks him out.

Power, and balls can only get you so far. More times than not, superior skill and talent will win over. Unless Benn headbutts one of these elite guys, and causes bleeding in thier brains, then Benn's chances of beating them are extremely slim.

I probably haven't seen enough of Chandler to say (have only seen his fights with Sandoval, Canizales and the Muniz rematch). He looked terrible against Sandoval but looked much better against Muniz and Canizales. Overall I don't think his resume has the depth required for him to be considered great. I would only ever call someone great with such a resume if they had immense ability, and from what I've seen I don't think Jeff fits that criterion. He looks very good in most areas, but not really outstanding.

I rate Lupe Pintor (a fighter I am more familiar with) higher, but even Lupe would be borderline I'd say. Somewhere in the 150-200 all time range. That's not a bad placement considering how many great fighters there's been through the ages. Might sound low but I think it's fitting given the company on that list.

I think if you seen enough of Jeff you'd be more impressed. He was a very very well rounded fighter, who unfortunately fukked around a bit. The Sandoval bout i just throw out, i have no idea WTF happened there tho i have it on good authority drugs got him in the end.

He fought well vs Gabby tho, a very underrated performer. Ever seen Jeff vs Murata in any of there 3 fights?

Actually Hearns only got KO'd ONCE by Barkley genius, I see your knowledge shining through. Furthermore, I clearly said Benn would have a puncher's chance vs Hearns, but the most likely scenario however is Hearns getting to Nigel first.

Regarding Jones, Roy wasnt a fool. He knew when to jump on guys, and when not to. When he gets Benn hurt, he wouldnt become stupid or careless, thus giving Benn his only chance. This whole myth of the ever dangerous "wounded" Benn is blown outta proportion... Roy Jones isnt ****in Anthony Logan, or Doug Dewitt.

I can see your nuthuggery of Nigel is amusing, but the fact is Benn was simply not on the same level as Jones, or Toney. Nigel's best career win is tainted considering that G-man was BLEEDING IN HIS BRAIN courtesy of Benn's dirty tactics.

I have an order out for the first Murata fight, which I can't wait to see after seeing how well Murata performed against Lupe.

Have you seen any of their trilogy? What are your thoughts on it?

I haven't actually but i am positive i have one or two here somewhere on tape. Hopefully i will have the first one so we can exchange notes mate. I'm a big fan however of both Chandler and Pintor. Massive. Loved Pintor back then and warmed more (read appreciated) to Chandler more post of their era.

Incidently in the first 80 seconds EM lands a massive right hand that knocks Chandler clean off his feet but the ropes hold him up. Interesting that was.

d'oh..i WATCHED both barkley fights....schoolboy error haha....yes, benn is one of my favourite fighters, and yes, you did say he had a punchers chance..which is essentially what im saying too......i just fancy his chances vs jones because roy did get cocky and would, doubtless hurt benn..which is when he is most dangerous.....

toney, as i said, is a much, much harder fight....styles as ever make fights....i dont dislike eubank for instacne, but id say jones or toney beat him 99 times out of 100...but he had benns number..go figure..styles make fights..see where am comin from??...anyone with benns power is good in a head to head.....

another guy on his day who would give a lot of top ten guys fits could be ray mercer....surely a better fighter on his game than the big hitting but limited tua??..

Sweet_Scientist I think Lloyd Marshall and Jimmy Bivins should be top 100 p4p Marshall might even be top 50 his resume at middleweight is probably only second to Greb. Out of interest where do you have Burley and Holman Williams?
