After his impressive performance against Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera at UFC 92, Frank Mir credited his cardio for allowing him to showcase his impressive striking skills. "I have been doing stand-up [fighting] since I was 4 years old," said Mir at the UFC 92 post fight press conference. "The issue was conditioning. Before, I would walk into the Octagon afraid of getting tired. Tonight it could have gone 10 rounds and I would not lose in any position."
Brock Lesnar however, has a different take on Mir's "improved stand-up.
"Mir's stand-up only looked better because Nogueira didn't show up," UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar told ESPN.com.
Lesnar, who had been rooting for Mir to win so that he could get a rematch with the man to hand him his only MMA loss, talked about his reaction to the fight.
"My first thought was 'Nog looked like crap,'" Lesnar said. "My second was, 'Yes, a rematch! Payback time.' My Christmas wish has come true."

He speaks the truth. We all know what would have happened if Big Nog vs Mir took place 5 or 6 years ago. Brocks certainly brought the WWE feel to the UFC with his smack talk.

he looked like crap... But it's hard to blame him...he was already different in 2005...and shot by the end of 2006...Emelianenko single handedly ruined the best prime years of this guy's career.

Well thats nonsense, one of his biggest wins of his career against Barnett came at the very end of 2006.
    He was not shot then.

Nog didn't look so good vs. Herring either...............I kinda knew it was the beginning of the end for him.

sorry but he already was different. I'm not saying it was as bad or as obvious as his ufc debut. but it already was noticeable.

He should've lost that fight...you all know it. Herring had the opportunity of his life , landed a solid high kick...could've finished his ass right then and there...but didn't.

Instead , he just let him recuperate...

No there's a crucial difference between looking like crap and using a "rope a dope" type of a approach. Just watch Nog vs Kharitonov...or vs werdum or Herring...

herring is probably "the" most obvious and best example.
do the experience , watch his 1rst , 2nd & 3rd fight vs this guy.

Now all of a sudden this moron thinks he's the god of a MMA? Nog not looking great was because of what Mir did to him. This was the same Nog that debuted against Hearring and then beat Sylvia. Mir simply had the stuff to shut him down and put him away when they didn't. So if Nog didn't show up then neither did Couture. It's the same thing.

As far as that rematch between Mir and Lesnar, it's Franks fight to win. He's way smarter than Lesnar and MUCH more systematic. Lesnar has the body to fight but certantly not the brains. You can't say CROCK wins fights because of his intelligence, he does because of his size and Mir won't allow this one trick pony and fake HW Champ to get past him with that garbage. And Nog vs Mir 5 yrs ago isn't fair to say. We all know what happens, but what about Nog 5 yrs ago vs Mir of today? Frank would still be a problem because he outboxed Nog and didn't really go to the ground, he ko'd him, therefore no subs from out his ass.
