Nog is already in the HOF. His credentials are quite clear as to his status as one of the best heavies in MMA of all times. Mir isnt even close to that yet. As for his Herring and Sylvia fights in the UFC im sure you noted both times the guy was on the brink of defeat. Nog is finished that is VERY apparent. Mir had a great strategy to beat him but the facts remain it was augmented by Nogs mileage and poor form.

Of course Nog's credentials make him one the very best and I think the Greatest ground HW in MMA history. The guy has had some memorable fights, my favorites were against Crocop and Bob Sapp. I would never dispute what Nog has done, infact he's one of my favorite HW'S along with Mir, Randleman, & Overeem. However everyone saying Nog is done and that had they fought 5 yrs ago takes away from Mir's victory. Let's not forget everyone counted Mir out coming into the Nog fight. Noone thought he was gonna win and were already planning Nog vs CROCK.

Mir stops him and all of a sudden he's washed up completely when before everyone thought Nog still had something left to beat Mir and Lesnar. Nog subs Sylvia and noone is complaining, he gets stopped by Mir and he's washed up completely? Even I'll say Nog has slowed down but still a good enough fighter to beat some quality guys. Mir simply had the right formula to catch him. And as far as his form, that's pretty much how he's looked since entering the UFC. Call me crazy but I think Nog still has a couple of fights left in him against good guys, and if he wins would make Mir's victory over him even better.

Since coming to the UFC no one in there right mind has though Nog was anything but finished. Against Herring he looked awful and was nearly stopped. The same happened against Sylvia until he got the miraculous sub after taking a pummelling. I never subscribed to Nog being a lock to beat Mir. Either way its immaterial as its abundantly clear Nog is finished. That was evident long before he fought Frank.

Really its all turned out for the good..We get Lesnar Vs Mir 2 for the title...

Im going with Lesnar via KO...

Though wont be surprised or shocked if Mir wins for the 2nd time...By Sub ofcourse.

But in hindsight both Herring and Sylvia had Nogueira in trouble in his previous outings.

Man i can't stand this BS! Everytime someone loses when they were'nt suspose 2 it's cuz they are'nt the same fighter or they looked like crap god forbid he just lost 2 a better fighter! I mean F##K just give Mir his credit!!!

  7. Mirr was excellent, Nog did look like crap, and I get the feeling Dana has asked Brock to 'play the heel' and add some WWE smack-talk to the UFC. If so, it's a master-stroke as it's generating more interest.

    Amen

We, who are not total idiots that has to change their opinion about a fighter after every fight, are few. But we are strong, and should form an alliance. We should start our movement by being louder. Also we can have a recruiting thread, and maybe start a forum guild. We can be called Those Few Enlightened. Yeah.. that's a good idea.

That does happen sometimes but this this isn't a good example of it. Even when Nog was beating Herring and Sylvia a lot of people were saying he was shot. His decline wasn't overnight and anybody who watched his prime already knew he was on a steep downward slope.

Not "almost got stopped" in every big fight he has ever been in, not just Herring and Sylvia.
