Still seems kind of thin a reason to travel so far for an obscure fight with no apparent international broadcast plans..
I dont see this fight being a problem for Kasidis, his opponent is older, not much of a puncher and has lost a decision to Graham Earl. Katsidis beat Earl inside the distance and has the power to easily outhustle Ramirez. As Ramirez has never been stopped I wouldn't rule out this going the distance, although I suspect Katsidis will win by stoppage in Rds 8-11 !
Katsidis is just in Australia so the distance is not that far. As for the Argentinian guy, well, he is still making a name for himself so he can't choose the venue. There might be no offers for Katsidis and hence he accepted the offer for him to fight in Cebu City. That's better than no fight at all. Besides, I heard that Cebu has nice beaches so they can go to the beach right after the fight.
Katsidis is training in the jungle of Thailand atm, i think is he chasing Pacman and somehow thinks a big win in the Phillipines will make the country want the PAcman vs Katsidis fight.
That's exactly my question.....guess his got some popularity there from his amateur days and the Amonsot fight. He should win, even by KO.
Katsidis is fighting in the Philipines in hope of a fight with Manny. Not going to happen but at least he is willing to fight anyone.
Am i the only one who thinks katsidis is boring? He has no boxing ability whatsoever and he's not a skilled brawler either. He's downright amateurish IMO. A poor man's Gatti.
