115-112 Hopkins. Laugh at me if you want but I just saw like 2 or 3 clean punches landed on Hopkins. Plus the fact that Joe's aggression was ineffective.

good point but its not always the case like hatton was the aggressor against mayweather but mayweather took nearly every round

completely true, but my point is that if its arguable who won the fight then the aggressor usually takes it.

Joe landed pitter patter punches but didnt land many effective punches. Hopkins was well ahead by rd 7- I had it a draw at the end

when its close i give it to the agressor like pac marquez and hopkins calzaghe but when the aggressor has landed not close to the number of punches as the other guy then i give to the non aggressor

    I've watched it 3 times.
When I saw it live, I gave JC a narrow but deserved victory, simply for work ethic and punches landed. I felt that Hopkins was far too negative for too many sessions.
Upon watching it a second time, I scored to fight to Joe Calzaghe - again, but this time by a wider margin.
Third time was really no different to the second. :)
    HTH!

    Hopkins won the fight...because:

    1. Joe slaps......slaps don't count
    2. Hopkins landed at least one good blow nearly each round (more effective that slaps)
    3. Joe threw a lot of punches (most of them missed)
    4. Hopkins was past his prime
    5. A prime Hopkins destroys Calzaghe
    6. Hopkins made Joe look bad
    7. Joe is overated
    8. Hopkins is old school
    9. Aggression over volume
    10. Joe hit Hopkins hard in the nuts...that must count for something
    11. I'm a NardTard
    12. I will feel better if everyone votes for Hopkins
    13. All of the above

To the people who think Calzaghe slaps ineffectively - what are your thoughts on Hopkins' bodyshot KO of DLH?

Theres a reson for that. I takes someone being aggressive to actually make a fight, and by being aggressive you leave yourself open to being hit. Without getting a reward for doing it, why risk the downside?

If agression is not looked on a positive thing in a fight would would be in for some serious snoozefests. We'd soon end up with fights with 2 people circling each other throwing next to nothing and going into their shell as soon as they landed a single clean blow as that would then be enough to carry the round.
