Pac better not get greedy. Hatton is a massive draw, and the man at 140, this is a 50/50 fight.

The rationale for this decision is that Pac's camp think that a fight with PBF would be more financially rewarding and in the event that Pac loses to PBF, he still can fight Hatton later.

If he fights Hatton now and loses, there is no way he can lure PBF to fight him.

I personally would like Pac-PBF first.

Any way you want to put it,there will be a huge number of buys in the uk, there will be a huge number of travelling fans from the UK.

These guys are the two biggest draws in the world period. In other words, one trying to get one over on the other in terms of split is greedy and silly. Even if Pac IS the main attraction

You really think there's that much in it?

Based on what? Hatton would almost certainly carry more fans to the Phillipines than to Vegas.

i'd seriously question that. british fans travelling in numbers is not something that happens solely in boxing. british football and cricket fans travel to the arse end of nowhere on a regular basis to support their teams. the england cricket team had around 30,000 follow them down under to australia on the last ashes tour.

it doesn't matter where the event is held, british fans will travel in large numbers.

Pacquiao would garner enough PPV buys to more then cover any discrepancy between physical draw numbers.

Pacquiao > Hatton by at least a 5% purse difference. But don't you think it's funny that all these tough guy boxers are fighting over a purse?

i only argued that a reason can be made for pac to take the bigger share, but in the end it's more than likely going to be 50/50.

60/40 for pac isn't unreasonable. he is the #1 p4p fighter of the sport and now its biggest name/draw after his win vs. dlh. hatton accepted a 30/70 purse split w/ mayweather. so, why not 40/60 for the pac fight?

That's not unreasonable, and an argument probably does exsist, but I just think when you're talking about the #1 and #2 draws, what a waste of a great fight to get all ****ed up over the inbetween numbers.

Hatton will definately turn this down if its not 50/50 and go straight for Juan Marquez.

Pac is the biggest name in boxing at he moment amongst fans but how many PPV buys and travelling fans does this actually translate into? Hatton will take around 15,000 fans to Vegas and will generate close to a million PPV buys in Britain alone.

Pacs P4P number one, but he'll be the challenger in this fight, I'd say in this case a 50/50 split is fair to both fighters.

Remember that Juan Manuel Marquez, the true SFW champion agreed on a 80-20(!) split just to have a rematch with Pacquiao, because PacMan refused to take less than $5,5M, and the budget for the two fighters was $7M, according to Freddie Roach. And after the debated fight, Pacquiao even said something like he'd only give a 3rd fight to Marquez, if he keeps his word to fight for the glory, not for the big money. :patsch

Hatton could pack the Wembley with any fight. I think he can walk away from this fight with the less damage. He should't even talk until Team Pacquiao drops this stupid idea and agrees on the 50/50.
