    he got US$20 for each UK buy?! i highly doubt that. the british networlks won't allow that. they won't make any money if that's the case. more realistic is US$10, so that about US$12m. did he also have a share of the US PPVs?

    Its popularity that brings in the money for the fight that enables the purses to be paid. If Hatton brings the money then he deserves at least a 50/50 split.

    Hatton could fight any one of half a dozen fighters, get a 50,000 live gate and 1 million+ PPV sales. Does Pac have these options? Seems to me he either fights Hatton, rematches JMM for a quarter of the purse or prays for Mayweather to get bored and come out of retirement.

    I bet Hatton got about $7.50 for each buy......

    Still $9m, based on 1.2m buys.

    Here are 3 prominant guys that he missed at 140;

    Mayweather, Cotto, and Witter. Props to him for fighting Mayweather at 147. However, Mayweather was the top challenger to his belt after he beat Tszyu and he wanted no parts of him. Instead he fought Maussa.

    What difference does age make? We're taking about fighters accomplishments and so far Bradley hasn't done much at all for people to say Hatton is ducking him.

    I'm saying Holt is a better fighter than Paulie. I thought I was being pretty straight forward there.

    no way. $7.50 from a $30 buy? that's 25% he would have got at least 50%.

    No one is saying he's ducking him. However, I doubt he would fight Bradley.

    You clearly don't know the full tale.

    Hatton was having legal trouble around the end of 2005 (dispute with Frank Warren) - either way, it made no sense to take the Mayweather fight at that point, either financial or career wise.

    Had he been beaten (which he would have) he would have been seen as a joke in America and would have made next to $0. By unifying and taking a few fights in America, he made a bit of a name for himself in the US, enhanced his standing here and made the fight bigger.

    I bet Floyd wasn't in much of a rush to get his ass to the UK and fight?

    No?

    Besides Tszyu, it was his best win. Mike Tyson was a better win for Douglas than anything on Lewis' resume. Does that mean Douglas has a better resume? Of course not.
