Because thats exactly what is going to happen if they square off. If you have studied Mayweather's tactics against southpaws/smaller men you would see that he would consistently walk them down behind the high guard defense and force the action.

I see him knocking down pacquaio's right jab with his left forearm while countering over the top with lead left jabs or hooks while setting up the lead right hand which would land consistently. Pacquaio's lunging left would be null and void in this fight as mayweather would see it coming and duck underneath it or counter with his own right.

Once Manny gets frustrated from constantly getting hit, not landing consistently, and being on the move he would begin to depend on that lunging left a little too often leaving him off balance and badly out of position (which it always does). Once PBF figured out Manny's rythm and timing he would take advantage of pacquaio' mistakes making him pay with lethal shots mainly the right hand.

This is precisely the game-plan I see floyd initiating and I don't see pacquaio seeing the final bell in this one fellas

    NOTE: I AM NOT A PBF ADMIRER/NUTHUGGER....but i am a fan:good

I really don't imagine Mayweather pushing him back. Pacquiao would get KO'd walking onto something before that happens.

Great observation. I forgot about that. I even myself think/thought he would counter but you are right. He does like to walk them down. Might catch Manny and Freddy off guard.

Floyd is stronger and could easily wrestle manny in clinches.

And Im a big fan of both. I just have a mayweather avatar

Although he's improved as a fighter, he still doesn't know how to fight on his backfoot. I don't think one can learn to fight going backwards. It's something that you're born with and pacquiao doesnt possess that kind of finesse. He's a lost puppy when being backed up.

This fight will be no different than floyd/chop chop and floyd/judah.

It is interesting. Back when PBF was fighting 130-35'rs he would smash that ass most often. What was his KO % back then? It was way up there, I know that.

I dont think Pacquiao can beat Floyd no matter what the weight or circumstances, I think he will look sharp like Judah did early on but Floyd is a counter puncher, and Manny style plays right into that, much the way it did when Morales fought him the first time and Morales used basic boxing/counter punching to win the fight.

Floyd can match Pac's footspeed and hand speed....Pac would be off balance alot...Floyd would take advantage of that...

I dont see Pac & Floyd fighting any time soon (hope Im wrong) but if they do, I think Mayweather outboxes him, the only worry from FMJs point of view is how long he hasnt fought, you need to be tip top vs Manny Pac, look what happened to Oscar.

Interesting observation.. but if you noticed versus DeMarcus Corley walking the southpaw down is what got him into trouble in the fourth.. after getting whacked around a little Floyd then decided to box and completely dominated afterward.

Thing is Manny is thought of more as an aggressor and the key to beating him seems to be to lay back and comeback with right hand counters. I see Floyd adopting more of a JMM strategy where he decides to box somewhat aggressively, and attempt to potshot and counter Manny all night with that stellar right hand of his.
