He doesnt fight in oz anymore so we only really hear about him until after the fights have already happened.

Wish him the best, still quite amazed he only took boxing a few years ago.

Bowie is a freakish physical speciman. For a guy his size he can really move as well.

How do you guys think he would go against Haumono and Hoppa?

Both would be great fights to watch. Hoppa and Tupou would be fought inside the phone booth :yep

Can't see Hoppa winning, although it would be great while it lasted.

Haumono has some skills though... Whether he can deal with the size, pressure and workrate of Tupou would be interesting.

I haven't seen Tupou fight since much earlier in his career, has he progressed much?

I havent seen Bowie in action since his last fight in oz..I may have seen a highlight of him in one of his U.S fights, im not to sure.
Salif is a good step up...a cagey guy with a ton of international experience.

Which is why moving to America was a smart move..the depth of heavyweight fighter is so much deeper over there and he was running out of opponants in Oz..He would have been expected to fight guys like Mirovic and Wilson when he wasnt really ready because he had cleaned out most of the lower tier aussies and kiwis.
They can bring him along nice and gradually in America and it seems they have slowly starting stepping him up.

You really don't think he could beat Mirovic after seeing what Hoppa did recently?

I totally agree though that going to the states was an excellent move. The sparring and the facilities over there as well would be so much better. I imagine there would be more money in it also...

At the stage he was at when he left most definitely not...He looked pretty average against Tutaki and showed a hell of a lot of flaws against Fitzy a few months before, especially his stamina and defence which is something Bob has a knack for exposing.

Now its probably a lot different but Big Bob is never a guy you should rush someone in against just ask Izonreti or N. Briggs...I really think Hoppa took a lot of punishment in that fight trying to put Bob away, career shortening kind of stuff.

Id really have to see how Tupou was looking now to make a pick on that fight...But when he left for the State I would have very little confidence in him beating Bob at that stage. Thats why I think it was a good move to leave then because either he was going to have to keep recycling the same old fighters he had been facing or step up to a Wilson, Mirovic or Hoppa kind of fighter and he wasnt ready at the time.

    Fair enough...

I hadn't seen any of his fights apart from really early in his career, so i hadn't seen him tested in any way at all.

Bob is a big, tough guy, even if he beat him it what have taken a lot out of him like you said.
