That 4million offer from Goossen was to Top Rank in return for being the lead promoter of Williams/Margarito II against half the net revenues. Margo will probably not clear even $3million under such an arrangement with Arum and I doubt Bob would go for such a deal at any rate.

$2.5million against Mosley sounds just about as good as Williams and is a lot bigger name as well.

 

He didnt sign, he was going to sign, and Arum said if he did than he would sue him.

SURE.. THE poor guy is misunderstood, nobody wants to fight him, except a guy named CQuintana who came along a few months ago and gave a schooling through 12 rds. to this guy Williams. It actually took 13 rds. to do the job that Cotto did in 5 in his very first fight @ ww, and we all know Cotto has improved since. PW needs to man-up and give CQ the rubbermatch, otherwise he should just stop playing the most feared guy in boxing roll. He's not feared by anybody, Imo, it's just everybody is busy with other fights. He'll get his shot... we'll see how it goes!

 

He let it slide cause Margarito signed an extension on his contract with Top Rank LoL. Margarito wanted to be a champion going into the Cotto fight to get more leverage on the split. Goossen threw another $400K in cash under the table to Margo to make the Williams fight on top of his 80% share of the total purse. It's all about money at the end of the day.

Margarito was ready to split from Arum to go to GBP at the time because he was being treated like a second rate fighter.

 

Problem is CQ never wated a rubber match. Have you EVER heard anyone from CQ's team ask for a 3rd match?

 

Cotto will win! Williams is nothing special

 

He was special enuff to beat the guy that TKO'd Cotto

 

why would arum sue him for a rematch when its a much more common sense fight to make than the first one..in hindsight?

 

same reason arum was gonna sue am if he signed a contract to rematc williams. you should ask arum
