I think Valero is a fraud. There is no way he should be fighting bums at this stage in his career, yet he still does. He needs to give the fans a good show and fight real contenders, not Tomato Cans.

I think realistically Valero is like 2 years away from fighting at the elite PPV level (guys like hatton and pacman) hopefully none of them retire!!

Considering he hasnt fought in the US when it was first proposed in 2004 (the time he initially signed with GBP) and the record he carries, theres a large possibility he turns out to be an anti-climax/false dawn..

..I sincerely hope this is not the case boxing needs guys like this and if he beats Pitalua, he'll probably be upgraded to full WBC champ as Pac will probably drop the belt to fight floyd after the hatton fight

theres a lot of potential big fights for Valero in the lightweight division

    Nate Campbell
    JMM
    Juan Diaz
    Casamayor

If he gets through JMM and another 1 of the names above then a fight with Pac is a lot more realistic, thats a big if !! he'll be fighting the mandatorys that an alphabet title brings as well

He needs to fight at least 3 times or more this year as he has been inactive since June so get him booked Top Rank or whoever is promoting him he needs to be seen!!

According to fight____, Promociones Deportivas won the purse bid held in Mexico City to promote their WBC lightweight title fight between Valero and Pitalua. Ricardo Maldonado of Promociones Deportivas outbidded Gold Boy, $151,000 and Salvatore Cherchi's OPI2000, $197,777 at 211,000 dollars. No site named.
