Ricky Hatton should be more than willing to take a 60/40 split. He is lucky to even be fighting a #1 p4p fighter again. He was lucky to get a fight with PBF to begin with. Hatton's recent performances do not warrant a fight with Pac-Man. Pac-Man has many options for "super-fights" compared to Hatton. If Hatton will not accept terms quickly Pac-Man can look for better fights for his legacy and just as much money. Hatton probably wants to cash-out like David Hype. If Hatton were dedicated like Manny Pacquiao then maybe he would be in a position to ask for more money but he prefers to blow himself up 40lbs between fights. In his only fight against an elite, prime fighter, he was embarrassed. Beating feather-fisted Paulie does not elevate him the least bit except to perhaps his fanatical fans who seems to relate to Hatton's unprofessional lifestyle. Hatton's camp made a move last month to suggest PBF was actually interested in a fight with Hatton but this was only a move to try and falsely show he has more bargaining power than what really exists.
Yes he does, especially with his partying lifestyle and a good chance he gets KO'd again in his only fight with a elite opponent still in they're prime.
other than mayweather who until he says different is retired, what are these fights that are better for his legacy than beating the lineal champ at 140? and what are these options for superfights that manny has that hatton hasn't got?
Hatton is THE man to beat in a division that Pac has skipped (and will be comfortable at) If Pac fights Mayweather, then Hatton should fight JMM. If they both win (don't think Pac will) then the fight will be MUCH bigger.
Pac-Man could go straight for Maywether, fight Marquez for a third time, or even fight an elite WW if he wants. Hattton's best days are behind him and he lacks the talent to move up in weight as he has already shown. His options=much more limited than Manny's.
why didn't pac go for mayweather then? and as for jmm, hatton can fight him too. and as far as fighting an elite WW, hatton has as much chance of beating an elite WW as pac, don't let the oscar fight cloud your judgement (or lack of).
So you've come up with a retired fighter, someone who he's already fought twice in a division he no longer wants to fight at or someone like Margarito who A. Is much too big for him and B. Hasn't done so much more than Hatton to be more deserving . What the **** are you on about moving up in weight as well ? The fight would be at Hattons natural weight where he is still undefeated and where he is unquestionably the best in the world. I really fail to see where you are coming from .
Hatton's version of a partying lifestyle is a few too many beers and a pizza on the way home - hardly flash compared to Floyd owning 20 cars and having a staff of 30 odd. Hatton's father looks after his money, paying him a wage if you like - to ensure he doesn't blow it all. His missus is also pretty sensible as well.
The reason this fight is being made is; Hatton is the most commerically/financially lucrative opponent for Pacqauio. Hatton is the linear champ at 140, Pacqauio is the P4P King. It makes PERFECT sense for this fight to take place, both for sporting and business reasons. I get the feeling you have an anti-Hatton, anti-British agenda.
Why didn't he go straight for Mayweather? Because it's easy money to fight Hatton as long is he accepts the terms. Hatton has a next to zero chance against a top WW, unlike Pac-Man.
