Trinidad was a great puncher, not the best one punch puncher, but a dependable puncher. No way was he in the caliber of a Hearns or Cueves, but who is.

Some of you guys don't know this, and I guess it's because I live not to far from Don Kings office here in south Florida and I know people who have worked there for sometime, But the real reason Tito didn't get a title shot in those six years is because he was having problems with the contract that King layed on him. Something having to do with money issues and that King wasn't paying him a full cut. He even tried to freeze Trinidad's contract to keep him from signing with another promoter and there was a period of about 7 to 8 months that Trinidad did not fight, and that was on more than one occasion. Its so nice to see Don King without any good fighters to promote.

Holy crap, this was the first post of this thread that actually speaks some knowledge of boxing. Right on man, Tito was definitely a monster at welter. He absolutely did become one dimensional because of it though, and then moved up in weight where he wasn't quite the puncher he was at welter. Then he unfortunately met Bernard Hopkins, who eats ever forward moving power punchers for lunch. The hand wrapping stuff was a psych-out move by Hopkins that has been copied thereafter. 2 cents; stop trying to hurt Tito's accomplishments or better yet, keep your 2 cents and I'll give you a dollar to buy some candy or something.
