I disagree Money. The ease of PBF's win over Hatton has become vastly exaggerated as people forget the actual fight and remember only Hatton being introduced to Mr Ringpost. Hatton did not look like a tomato can, it's not as if the fight ever resembled Mayweather v Gatti. Take out the 8th round, and by the 10th you have a pretty competitive and exciting fight. Mayweather was a cut above Hatton on the night, but IMO Hatton never looked like a tomato can, he looked like a good fighter fighting a great one. The term "tomato can" implies a punching bag, a walkover. It wasn't like that at all.
The difference is that Kessler and Haye have the talent, but lack that breakout victory...Haye has his win over Enzo...that's about it. Kessler has his competitive loss to Calzaghe...that's about it. I actually feel Dawson is placed in the wrong spot. Margarito has Cotto and most of the contenders in his division under his belt. Cotto has Mosley, Judah and Quintana...Mosley being that breakout win. And Williams has his various weight campaigning victories + his win over Margo... I voted WC as well...Hatton's best win was Kosta and it was a horrible fight to watch in all honesty. All the grabbing and wrestling involved was not right, but it was a good win. But I think with a win over Pac he would be elite, if not elite p4p
omg, enough with this bias ref crap.... So the ref didn't allow Hatton to do something against the rules and hold and maul all night so he was bias? Hatton would have lost no matter who was the ref for that fight, unless it was some british ref who DQs PBF for too many punches to Hatton's face.
I thought that after the third round Cortez seemed rather jumpy to break up the holding before the holding even began... But it was all clear from the beginning...but to be fair to Cortez...he DID call Mayweather for his use of the forearm to guard Hatton away from grabbing
You just don't know how boxing works, in the years Mega fight, the refs are told and understand how important it is for the sport for the fight not to be UGLY... and I am sorry, but Hatton's Mauling and wrestling is ugly as hell. Even if Hatton was allowed to hold a bit longer, it would have made no difference.
