Peter Manfredo, Bika, Mundine and the nobs from Germany, I would love to see the Cobra retire Markus Beyer for good.
WBC top 15 @168: 1. Jermain Taylor 2. Andre Dirrell 3. Andre Ward 4. Marcus Johnson 5. Jean Pascal 6. Sakio Bika 7. Anthony Mundine 8. Alejandro Berrio 9. Vitaly Tsypko 10. Robert Stieglitz 11. Stanislav Kashtanov 12. Jeff Lacy 13. Karo Murat 14. Mads Larsen 15. Carlos De Leon Jr or one of the other champions.
Pascal = Lacy Taylor = Kessler If Froch deals with Taylor, he only has to beat up two old men and he has a resume that is the equal of Calzaghe.
Taylor Wright II?! I'd forgotten that they even fought in the first place. No disrespect to Winky who was a great craftsman in his prime but what's he done for the last 2 years to make punters interested in this fight bar having a name that they might recognise. They are definitely dodging the Cobra, can't blame them I suppose but Taylor's always seemed pretty prepared to take on the best in the past.
Why does anyone need to be dodging anyone? What has Taylor ever done during his career to suggest he's a "ducker"? Get some perspective people.
Taylor who has fought Pavlik twice, Hopkins twice, WW and Jeff Lacy is afraid of and ducking Froch I think the most obvious explanation is that it simply doesn't make financial sense for him...I'd imagine that the big TV networks over there aren't overly enamoured at the thought of screening an unknown Brit... That being said, I would like to see the fight. We do not to consider these things though.
HBO don't care about the alphabets either, they haven't mentioned them for years. They're not going to spend their budget on a Froch Taylor fight just because the WBC say so. It has to make financial sense for them. I too would like to see the fight though. I thoroughly enjoyed the Froch Pascal brawl. Froch would have tighten up his defence against Taylor though otherwise he'll have his ears boxed off.
I don't think Taylor is a ducker and if he wants to have a couple of tune-up fights at the weight first its his prerogative. I am not sure this fight will come off, however, Taylor seems to want everything on his terms, i.e. Froch has to come to North America. He pulled a similar stunt by pulling out of the Eastman fight when it was decided that it would be in Sheffield. I think Froch would go to the States, but they'd have to make it worth his while and I'm not sure HBO would be prepared to put enough money into it to do so. The problem Taylor has is what are his other options? Kessler, Bute or the Hungarian guy, none of whom are US-based and therefore they're going to have to put up the money if they want to get him a title shot. Otherwise, he's in danger of fading into irrelevance fighting round-robins with domestic level opposition.
