    Stop being a clown.

If he weighed in at 172 last fight he's comfortable making a catchweight. He wasn't even conciously trying to cut weight beyond 175 there.

A catchweight of 172 suits all parties considering no titles will be on the line.

Well if Johnson thinks he'll be weakened at that weight, then he is a foul to offer it - this is just an offer - not a done deal. If he had considered it a problem an offer of 172 (right between their normal weights) would have made more sense.

But as mentioned earlier - Johnson often weigh in well below the limit, which indicates that he doesn't have any problems making weight.

  5. **** off, dick, listen to your ass.

He was 178 for his last fight.

Unless you're on his Fav Five, I don't think you know what he may have to go through to lose the extra 4-5 lbs. Losing more weight at 40 isn't an easy thing whether you believe it is or not, fool.

A catchweight is what is necessary to get the fight. Kessler could easily cut a little less and make 175. Hopefully they make the fight. But don't think just because you say "he's comfortable making a catchweight" means it is true. It might be quite a ***** for him. Clearly, he is trying to get something done.

Well I've followed boxing long enough to know that a fight isn't made until both fighters are in the ring ... just stating that this fight is near perfect for Kessler if he is serious about trying to make it in the US.

  7. Yep. I hope for both their sakes they make the fight. You've got little guys moving up regularly these days. There should be no issue for guys at 168 to take fights at 175 if they have sufficient frame (and Kessler certainly does).

His last fight was a nothing fight where he hardly had to even break sweat to train. Nobody even counts that ****. Last time he faced a world class opponent and trained accordingly he weighed in at 172.5lbs, and he didn't exactly look damaged, did he? Infact, he looked the fitter stronger man.

Stop being a whining *****. A catchweight is fine.

  9. Okay, sweetie, whatever makes you happy - arguing over a fight that probably doesn't happen is unnecessary.

    lol

Johnson's last fight was a stay busy affair. It's quite likely that he didn't train to quite the level he would for a fight against a higher level opponent. For his last but one fight against Dawson he was under 173lbs at the weigh-in, when he only had to make 175. As he has been consistently for his big fights at LHW.

A guy who consistently weighs in at 172 or 173 lbs when he only needs to get down to 175 can make 170 for a weigh in with no issues at all.

Again your argument is silly. If he's going through hell to 'lose the last four or five pounds' why would he consistently lose another two or three on top. We'd have to believe that he had the most incompetent training team ever to believe that.

  13. Actually, I think it a testament to GJ's professionalism, conditioning, and business sense. But, drawing conclusions about his ease at making weight is not something anyone here can make absolute statements of fact about. It isn't always easy to nail your weight to the exact limit. His average from 2001-2008 is closer to 174. He came in very fit for Chad. Obviously, he took it quite seriously. Just because he made the same weight only a couple years earlier doesn't mean it is easy. Every year it gets more difficult at his age.

Basically this clown ass wants to argue the sky isn't blue.

He already made very close to a catchweight by choice, when he didn't need to. As if we need any more proof he's fine making that type of weight.

I think its better Kessler tries to get a catchweight. It's better if he doesn't grow into a light heavy, which he could easily do if they ain't careful with his build. As a compromise it should be on Johnson's turf, which is what they are talking about.
