there are no fights out there to push him any higher up the atg ladder. he took on the champs in smw in lacy then kessler and beat two legends from lhw in hopkins and rjj. there isnt one single fight he can win which can change his current status as there isnt anyone good enough left.he was top of smw now he is top of lhw. unless he moves up to cw and beats a top guy there which is too big a weight jump. dawson would be pointless and a win over him would not make a differance to his status. he might as well retire, although i would love to see him fight the meaningless fight in dawson one last time in cardiff to say so long to his fans.
I think he already has in UK....as for the US well there are equally biased towards their own fighters.Very hard to get an unbiased judgement on this especially when it comes to Calzaghe who alot of Americans hate because of all the Americans he beat.
Thats a little drastic Zemo. Calzaghe has beaten some good fighters and his close win over B-Hop was truely memorable. The Roy Jones victory was useless. If Joe was to beat Hopkins again in his going away fight in Wales or even Chad Dawson, it would elevate him further. As the years go by, Chad Dawson will be a serious pound for pound player.
