Well, after the fight he said he & his team were still together, and they were just taking time off, but he wasnt specific about the relationship. But if they're not talking, I dont think Cotto has a chance.

How can Cotto say that when he was trying to clinch and was clinching against Margarito in the later rounds?

When asked in PR about september or so he said his team is good as it is and that they won't change it.Evangelista is still there.

But if he & his uncle arent talking, thats not good chemistry to fight a fighter like AM.

If you are not in their camp to confirm this we can't be sure. And besides it worked good till now.1 loss, big ****ing deal, great fighters lost,Cotto losing ain't nothing. He will avenge it and that is that.If not, still big deal, plenty of excellent fighters lost more than once.

I'm not in their camp, but I observed what was going on last time. And like I said, not having a manager to properly guide you against a guy like AM will be his downfall.

Very interesting, he likes to keep the fights with action , clinches just make the fight boring unless u use it for your benefit

Tommy Hearns is another man who preferred not to clinch, and it got him into some real trouble.

Do you agree with this statement Marnoff?

I may as well take a stand on this issue: Cotto CANNOT and WILL NOT beat Margarito if he refuses to clinch.

Please somebody buy Miguel Cotto a video of Bernard Hopkins fighting so that he can see that clinching is nothing to be ashamed of, it is a skillful defensive strategy than when used correctly (sporadically) stops you taking unnecessary punches and greatly increases your chances of victory... and greatly reduces your chances of being seriously/permenantly damaged.

With the way Miguel fought in the first half of the Margarito fight (very very good IMO), had he used clinching in the second half, he could've won out.

If he refuses to clinch v Margo next time, he will be battered down at some point again.

PLEASE MIGUEL SEE SENSE!!!! WATCH B-HOP!

Honestly he needs to wise up because that's just stupid. I know a lot us don't like the whole clinching but if your hurt or stamina getting low it's the best tactics. You can run but that was just wear you down more (Look what happen to him in the Margarito fight !)
I respect the guy because he's a warrior but that's just stupid In my opinion.

    .

Its not. Nobody is saying cotto should change his style, instead he should change his tactics/strategy. Clinching to make your opponent to reset or help you gather yourself isnt a style.

Then the last you heard was before the Margie fight.....

Cotto has made it very clear on numerous occasions that he and his
    uncle have resolved their differences.
They are a very close family and have a profound respect for oneanother.
    Thats first hand information.

But knowing you .....you will blow this off and continue to pass on unsubstantiated rumors that there is ill will between them.

All is well....look out Jennings and Margie.
