I love going to train but sometimes i have miss some training either because of school or work. I always call my coach (we have a very good coach/fighter relationship) whenever i cant be there. i honestly feel like **** when i cant go and sometimes i feel i let my coach down. Last month i missed 2 weeks because of finals. I almost went mad. at least i made it up by doing extra roadwork when i cant go. i have to do something you know?

Any of you feel sort of similar in a way?

Kids that go on to glory in boxing very often have that kind of reaction. They become fanatical about boxing and it starts to control their lives. But lets face it that is what you have to do to be successful in a competitive environment. If you aren't prepared to give a 100% commitment chances are you won't win the big fights.

Im kind of obsessed with training. this year should be good because my work and school schedule finally do not conflict with training so there should be no reason for me to miss training.

Yes. I become very distressed at the thought; to the point that I've not taken shifts at work that would conflict with boxing.

exactly. I already told my manager i cant work these days from this time to this time because of training. Training comes before work for me.

Thats the winner's spirit. Never a day off, nothing stands in the way. I believe when you train like that, thats the sort of mental attitude that you also carry into the fight, not a single excuse in your mind to give up even a small opportunity. But your avatar is a bit of a distraction though.
