Every so often the world hears a story of grief and suffering so extreme that those of us in the more fortunate countries are moved to open our hearts and wallets and do what we can to help. This is one such occasion. We may have sat stoney-faced as shells we helped paid for blew up little children in Gaza or while poor peasents in Indonesia saw their livelihoods once again destroyed by flood, but who can ignore the heartwrenching story of Princess Manuela Pacquiao. The Princess has fallen far from her royal pedastal and is now forced into virtual slave labour, earning a mere 50% of eleventy billion dollars rather than the 60% that is the minimum that can provide a decent standard of living in her part of the world. Not only that but, even more important, the Princess is denied respect. We here at Pacthon central are not entirely sure what this means, as the Princess is loved and respected by millions, but apparantly this respect is mainly derived from wheelbarrows full of hard currency being delivered to the Princesses door. Today, as you work in your comfortable office or lounge in your comfortable home, with plentiful food and running water, think of those less fortunate than yourself and pledge to do what you can to help.
As usual, another pro-British fighter thread/post. Pacquiao deserves more in my opinion. Hatton's last three fights = Mayweather(loss), Lazcano(close win), Malignaggi(great performance) Pacquiao's last three fights = Marquez(close win), Diaz, DLH Pretty simple to see who has the better wins here. If Hatton beat Mayweather then sure I'll agree he deserves 50/50.
That's funny, it doesn't mention any British fighters at all :? Since when were fight purses derived from the results of the last three fighst for each fighter? Why did De La Hoya get paid more than Pacquiao?
if you think the lazcano fight was a close win you didn't see the fight. and your not talking sense if you think that a purse split is decided on wins and performances, it's decided on $. otherwise oscar would have been earning a fraction of what he has been lately.
:-(( ...and don't forget to send your tax deductible pledges to the poor writer whose pathetic first attempt at a telethon failed so miserably. :good
Points-wise it wasnt that close but Hatton almost got KO'd by a natural lightweight, giving the impression that it was a close fight
HATTON NEVER NEARLY GOT KO'D he got hit a few times but isn't that supposed to happen in a fight (Unless your name is Mayweather)
What a joke. De Lay Hoya didn't even come to fight at dove like a Bungee jumper when the time came. Pacquiao/Diaz was as much a shut out as Hatton/Malignaggi - both great fights. So ye olde version of Hatton lost against Mayweather and a ring post. Mayweather was the best in the world and if the dude had won he should get 80/20 of any purse. Pacman is a great fighter but his last fight was no more than a sparring session and he to would lose against Mayweather, no question. So 50/50 is more than fair and that's why the fight is going to happen. A Hatton fight is a great event and a Pacquiao fight is a great fight. Everyone's a winner.
There's a reason why de la hoya is called golden. Do you hear any golden hatton? I guess not.. he is not as golden.
