Khan/Barrera, Why is everyone Bitching about this fight being made ?

Absolutely love love this fight, i can't wait!

Nobody knows what the hell is gonna happen and its how fights should be!

 

In honesty, I'm a little worried for Marco. I think I'm going to get to see this live, it would be my first time though, so it's going to be something to remeber for as long as I live. Seeing my favorite fighter ever and my idol fight in the flesh, even if it is a blown up, over the hill version.

Khan can pull it off everything considered, but Barrera was an extraordinary fighter, and if he has even 50% of what he did, he wins and by KO.

 

Im looking forward to this one... shud be all action. hopefully get to go down to see it.

again someones overlooking the fact that khans defence will be sharpened up everytime he steps into roaches gym u cant put muscle on yer chin i agree but u can make sure that isnt as big of an issue

When you're fighting a fighter like Barrera, who is one of the greatest fighters of the past 25 years, you are going to get hit at some point.

Barrera is way past his best, and Amir has a lot of size advantages, but I think Khan is barely 20% of what Barrera was or ever will be.

 

I haven't trolled ESB (or any other boxing news source) in weeks, so this is the first I've ever heard about Khan-Barrera - and I'm not bitching at all!

This is actually a best-case scenario as a critical make-or-break fight.

If Barrera can beat the flawed (but younger, and undeniably faster and more athletic) Khan, then his chances at continuing to lace them up into his twilight at lightweight at a top level can be considered with a measure of credibility.

If Khan can beat a faded, slowed, and well above peak weight (but still not completely shot, still dangerous, still cerebral, and still possessing a wealth of world-class experience) Barrera, then his chances at graduating from prospect to work-in-progress-but-eventual-legitimate-contender can be considered with a measure of credibility.

Whichever one loses, is done (in terms of credibility). No excuses. It's very simple and cut and dry. If Barrera can't handle the speed of a green Khan, he shouldn't persist in dreaming of gold. If Khan can't handle the punch of a blown up super bantam, he shouldn't persist in dreaming of gold. Rarely do these opportunities arise. I don't see who could *****. :?
