Could Floyd pull of a Hopkins like performance against Margarito?

Floyd has the talent to do it... the speed, skills, defense and counter punching.

He also has the stamina, he rarely ever has to rely on his stamina, but he could up his output and not have to worry about tiring.

The only thing is will he take the risks though? I dont think he will unless he is forced to. He was cautious against the bigger guys, against DLH and Baldo. Against Hatton he was aggressive but that was because Hatton forced him to fight that way, Hatton always comes forward and didnt allow him to run on the outside like normal. Margo's style of always pressing it, could make it a good fight and force PBF to be more active than usual, in which case I think he can do this.

The one big difference in this case though between Hopkins-Pavlik and PBF-Margo, is Hopkins has better power p4p than PBF. His shots hurt Pavlik more than PBF will hurt Margo.

So what if he is 18-0 in title fights, there is always a first for everything when your willing to take risk.

So going from 130-154 is not taking risks?:patsch PBF could have stayed at 135 his whole career and dominated and people would have said he didn't take risks by moving up and trying to fight guys like Hatton or Oscar and you know it. PBF can't win with people like you if he stays at one weight his whole career he's ducking people at other weights but if he moves up he's not taking risks.:-(

    - floyd would be the favorite unlike b-hop was against pav

    - there cant be a hopkins like performance b/c floyd cant impose his physical strength on margo like b-hop did to kelly. floyds gotta box, counter, stick & move for all 12 rounds.

Sure there were some risk, but he never took a fight against a guy in his prime who had a chance to beat him. you can say all you want about his move up to 154, but the truth is, he never faced any welter weight in their prime, he never faced any Jr Welter weight in their prime.

Says the guy who picks against PBF in every fight.:rofl:lol: I guess Chico wasn't prime? What about JLC? Or Hatton? Or Judah? What you fail to understand is that PBF would have been favored to beat anyone in the world from 154 and down with the exception of Winky.:deal It didn't matter who he fought he was that good.

The only way to beat Margo is to outbox him. Mayweather would do a number on him.

Agreed it won't look like Hopkins/Pavlik.

Floyd will win the first half but will give up some late rounds. Likely going the distance it will be a close and controversial decision. I always felt this fight will be won in the late rounds and Margarito would possibly pull it off.

I don't give a **** what anyone says, it would be a tough night for FMJ. Not saying he wouldn't win but he'd have to work harder than he has done for years.

First let me say this; I seriously dislike PBF, but Tony is one of my current favorites.

However, I do not think Margo has the hand speed or foot work to keep up with Floyd. He made hard work out of Cotto when some basic and simple footwork would have ended that fight 3 rounds earlier. However, I agree with those who say Floyd outboxing Tony would not qualify as a Hopkins like win.
