Call me a cynic but I get the impression that this is all some kind of gimmick. I cannot envisage Khan actually getting in the ring to fight Barerra because of Frank Warren. I get the impression that something will happen in the build up to the fight that means MAB pulls out and is replaced by some 16-1 prospect coming off 2 wins in a row (on points) against opponents who have been KO'd before.

I hope I'm wrong on this one but I feel I know Frank Warren's train of thought enough to be 76% sure that this fight will not go ahead as it's been announced.

People always say that when Warren fighters get matched against what they consider tough opponents and then claim they were proved right on the 10% of times the fighter does pull out but never mention it the 90% the fight goes ahead.

I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again but I've got a sneaking suspicion about this one.

Yes. Amateur fights don't happen that way, they're normally part of a big card. He was very subdued also the Cuban. I don't want to say too much though, for fear of getting banned. It's been a persistent rumour though.

I'd bet my life (well not quite but you get my drift) that was fixed. He was brought over to try and "upgrade" Khans silver to a gold and draw a line under the loss in the ams before Khan turned pro.

Thats a very serious accusation that just doesn't stain Khans character but also that of an amateur all time great. Throwing a fight for whatever reason is the worst thing that a fighter can do and people should be a little more circumspect about throwing allegations around without concrete proof.

I could watch i a thousand times, and until someone shows me irrefutable evidence to the contrary I will say that it was a decent win for Khan. Runours just aren't good enough when such a serious matter is being discussed.

I'm not accusing, I'm giving my opinion. That fight stunk, I'm sorry if it offends, I'm very aware its an easy thing for me to say with anonimity of the Internet to hide behind but thats forums for you in general and its honestly what I believe to be the truth.

He came over, was told not to try too hard and Kahns pro career is started with the loss in the final avenged. What other Olympic finalist has ever turned pro after rematching the guy he fought in the final?

I'm with Gaz... Kindelan was at the tail end of a long career after lots of fights. He was a Cuban who have served all of his time in amateur boxing without the financial rewards of the pro game.

What changed between the Olympic final and the rematch with Khan that made Kindelan look so flat? I think we all know the answer to this.

Whatever people think or want to think, the Mario Kindelan (level of performance) that fought Amir Khan in the rematch probably wouldn't have made the final of the Olympics.

if kahn can beat barerra then he deserves real credit! less than 2 years ago barrera was fighting against paquiaou + jmm & not gettin sparked! but i reckon it`ll be tough 4 kakn but he`s cabable!
so what kahn got sparked by prescott!
lewis got ko`d by mcall + rahman!! nobody calls lennox a bum!
