Barrera has had brain surgery, If you have had any kind of surgery the board refuse your application,as far as i;m aware. Will the board clear him to fight in the UK?.....:huh
It's a good point, i'm not sure he could take and pass an MRI scan which is a mandatory requirement to fight in certain countries including the UK. I'm very surprised such an important health issue has been overlooked.
Unless Audleys fighting Tyson in chief support and Nigel Benn returns against Joe Calzagheon the undercard if you catch my drift.
This issue will have been considered, but it won't be an issue until about two weeks before the fight. We'll get some "shock" news that the fight is off, and a late replacement will be announced.
Shouldn't be a problem, The surgery was for a genetic disorder he was born with and not from a boxing injury. He's fought most of his Biggest fight's with a metal plate in his head so i hope the BBBC see this for what it is and ok the fight. Quote from an article in USA Toady "Barrera's genetic condition causes a small group of malformed blood vessels in his head to cluster together. Some people go their entire lives without needing help. But Barrera began having headaches in 1995 and went to see a neurosurgeon in Mexico City who inserted protective implants in his head." http://www.usatoday.com/sports/boxing/2003-11-11-barrera-brain-surgery_x.htm
I was under the impression it was all kept hush hush until the PAC fight since which he hasn't fought in the uk. I think the bbbc may take issue. Hope not of course!
