People may have their theories on how Roy Jones may have dealt with the likes of Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank or Steve Collins during the late 80s/early 90's but what about James Toney?

After all they are fights that could have happened.

Someone will be along in a minute to point out that Steve Collins is not British.

    So I'll do it first...

Benn and Toney would have been a ****ing war. Of course I gotta go with my idol, "Lights Out" but what a fight!

I hate toney and his attitude. I'd favour eubank over him, but i think he beats benn in a war UD.

Eubank/Toney is too tough for me to call but I'd favour Toney over Benn.

at 160/168...Toney was actually a problem. slick boxing skills, nice counter punching. i'd have to choose Toney over Eubank and a harder earned win over Collins. But with Nigel idk, i could see something like a seesaw battle of wills and skills. In the early 90's these two men were on top of their games. (Common opponent between Toney and Benn was Iran Barkley...Toney made Barkley quit after 10, Benn annihlated him in 1)...

Toney called out Benn, and Eubank left and right. Neither one wanted any parts of him.

Toney would have beaten the **** outta Benn and stopped him within 9, he woulda boxed Collins silly and won a UD, and he woulda outboxed and outworked Eubank to a UD.

Ive said it a thousand times before and will continue to say it... Toney, along with Jones, McCallum, and Nunn were just higher calibres of fighters than Eubank, Benn, and Collins.

benn is my favourite fighter..but i just think toney style is a nightmare for him...slick defense, one of the best chins..ever...and a great counterpuncher.....i think he would stop nigel around 8 to 10 rounds.....

I think Toney would beat the crap out of Benn. His style is tailor made for Toney.

I think Toney would beat Eubank too, but i dont think Toney would beat Calzaghe i think he would get outworked.

Thing with Toney is, you never know what shape he will come in.

Of all the British... Calzaghe is the only one who I might pick over Toney. Its pretty much a pick em.

But Benn, Eubank, Collins, and Watson? Toney at his best woulda beaten all those guys. As would Jones, McCallum, and Nunn. Hell... McCallum beat 2 outta the 4 easily. And Eubank was scared shitless of McCallum.

    Yep

McCallum was too skilled for Eubank, Benn,Watson and he already beat Collins so.

I think Toney got 2 lucky decisions against McCallum.

    Calzaghe would beat Toney though.

Why? Collins gave Mike McCallum a good fight.

Toney would of beaten Collins , but he would not have had an easy time of it with him. Collins was a tough SOB.

  15. We will never know !!!

Eubank was a fantastic boxers one of my favs and could see him beating anyone in his prime an before the Watson fight, BUT we had such a strong domestic scence at the time they never needed to go to the U.S
