I dont believe that Roach has had this much influence on Khan this quickly.

It took him years of fighting with Pac before he had any say when it comes to Manny's future opponents. Roach wasnt very confident at first when the promoters suddenly matched up Pac-Barrera I. He thought the better plan was for Pac to stay put at 122 and unify, then think about the featherweights. And the managers matched him up with no ordinary featherweight too. Only the best featherweight in the divison, and p4p list member.

But he became more and more confident as the training went along.

In Amir's case, I think Roach maybe said, when asked for an opinion, "Yeah, Khan's got a chance. We're bigger, younger, and Khan's fast. It's a big gamble, though."

Then the next day, the fight is set.

Frank Warrens demeanour didn't say that to me. He looked and sounded like he had been kept out of the loop

warren would not put khan in with barrera unless it was certain that barrera is shot,
nobody knows for certain how could barrera is at the mo
that is the big ****ing mystery!!!!!!

i mean can someone get some good info please like how his sparring and that is going because this **** is crazy

only freddie would take the risk of exposing a fighter as shot, ALA OSCAR DE LA HOYA

    I never saw that video.

But didnt Khan just spar and train with Roach and the Pacquiao camp just a couple of weeks before Amir's early December comeback fight?

It was like a crash course type of deal. Amir and Roach probably have never spoken to each other before that.

Freddie wasn even Khan's cornerman for that fight. (Same night as PAc-ODLH, yes)

Roach trained with Oscar though, and I know none of us expected Oscar to look as bad as he did.

Roach has never trained with Barerra, and it isnt as if Manny whitewashed him in the rematch, Barerra took him the distance, and frankly Pacquaio looked tired afterwards, whereas Barrera just seemed happy to have gone the full 12.

Obviously Barrera is nowhere near his prime, but he isnt completely shot, and his skills purely as a boxer are still P4P. Its his speed and his age that have lessened his ability.

Considering Khans chin, his sometimes spotty defense, and the fact that he been knocked down multiple times and got put through the grinder with an ancient Michael Gomez, I am not sure what Roach see's in Barrera that would make him believe that Khan could handle him.

Khan has never fought anyone remotely close to Barrera's level. And even with his speed, Khan is not as good as Pacquiao obviously, and if MAB could go 12 with Pac, I imagine he can certainly do the same with Khan.

I expect a MAB KO, in the mid to late rounds.

I dont think so, Roach has had both Khan and Pacquiao sparring for the DLH fight, meaning Roach sees something in Khan, and he has seen plenty of Barrera to know weather or not this is a smart move on his part, Freddy isnt stupid, he knows when to take fights at the right time.

MAB is shot. Just ask his fans who think MAB was shot after so many 'ring wars' with EM after losing to Pac.

listen, if you can't beat a shot MAB, Khan should just call it a day and join up with his homie Hamed.

Khan is the biggest fighter in FW's stable.

IMO there is no way that FW would let him fight against MAB if he didn't think he would win.

It's still a massively difficult fight for Khan, but I think he’ll win, probably on points. His defence has already improved under Freddie Roach, and MAB’s war’s from the past may catch up on him.

I think Roach just wants to see if he is wasting his time.Thats why they have taken this fight,Marco aint shot but he is not the same fighter who beat Naz or pushed pac man.The fight will tell us if Khan has any kind of future at world level. If he wins great and Barrera has lost nothing, defeat means retire now for Amir or settle for brit and euro fights.
