In a press conference in Bacolod, Pacquiao said British brawler Ricky Hatton offered a 52-48 sharing Friday night. They told us last night (Friday) they now want 52-48, were still looking at it if theres going to be readjustment, said Pacquiao in yesterdays press conference for the 2009 Smart National Amateur Boxing Championship here. But they also say they could go up to 55-45, I might agree to that, he added. http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?ArticleId=432715&publicationSubCategoryId=69
Please don't do it Ricky. This is stupid. PacMan deserves ZERO % of the UK share. Offer him 70-30 on the US market with both of them keeping their home market. 50-50 on the UK market was insane anyway, that alone was better than PacMan deserved considering the huge difference in popularity in the UK.
why the heck do you care? how much of Ricky's purse are you getting? just make this fight happen already
Exactly why should we give a **** who earns more? they will both make a fortune. Just get the fight signed atsch
I care because it is not the way a fighter should negotiate, not a good sign for the future. This mentality of Pacquiao will KO a PacMan-Mayweather fight because you can bet Mayweather himself will offer 60-40, and PacMan wouldn't even take less anything less than 50. He just can't negotiate. Taking 80% vs. JMM was criminal, the fight happened only because JMM said '**** it, let's have the fight'. Team Hatton gave up too much, venue, UK split. If PacMan doesn't want the 50% of the UK he simply doesn't deserve, he doesn't deserve a shot at the lineal 140 champion, who was Hatton the last time I checked. I wish I'd get a share, but unfortunately I'm left out.
Hatton should just accept the 40%, take his beating, and consider himself lucky to be in the ring with Pac.
