Everything about him. He's so hittable and has no defensive awareness.. relies on his power too much. When he fights an elusive fighter, he looks like ****. Where was the highly touted handspeed tonight? He got baited into a brawl and lost IMO.

This kid is going nowhere. Collazo beats him in a rematch. But I doubt he gives him the rematch like he claims in the postfight interview. All the top guys of the division eats Berto alive. The guy's a damn midget. A bloated lightweight.

I agree. Berto is exactly like Lacy - except that he's got blazing fast hands, good footwork, an excellent uppercut and good technical boxing skill.

    Wait a minute...

  4. lol .. isn't he the WBC champ?

How can you say he got exposed? There was a close fight between two good fighters at the championship level. People love throwing that damn word around.

Collazo ain't a top welter, no matter what you say that won't change.
Berto will lose to the top welters.

If you're talking about Margarito, Clottey, Cotto, etc. then yeah, I agree with you. He needs to bring more to the table. There's still issues he needs to iron out in his game, if he can, before challenging those men.

To say he's exposed after the performance he put on tonight is a little extreme.

Ring Magazine has Collazo ranked ahead of Berto. Anyone who says Collazo isn't a top welterweight....?

I agree with you, but what do you think he could do to actually bring himself to victory against those guys especially Margarito. Berto's stamina isn't doesn't look great, he took a lot of rounds off, luckily for him so did Collazo. Margarito doesn't do that, Berto won't hurt him, and Collazo brought a good body attack, Margarito's is way above Collazo's. I think he would have entertaining fights with Clottey and Cotto, but Berto would lose both of those fights. I'm not saying he can't improve, but he would have to do so by leaps and bounds.

Lacy has no where near the hand or foot speed that Berto has on a relative basis....Lacy was a plodder.

Berto gets hit way too much but he is a damn good fighter

What can he do? Box more. Margarito is a nightmare for Berto any way you look at it - people have already made a thread saying just that. Cotto is leagues above Berto in boxing skill and wasn't able to pull a W over the Tijuana Tornado. He just won't win any fight against any of the elite welters if he thinks he can stand and trade. He has excellent hand speed, but that's just not enough.

He is overrated due to his record. But a good, solid fighter nonetheless, unlike Lacy.

Slick southpaws are nightmares for most orthodox fighters and Berto admitted as much in the post-fight interview.
