as you know shane mosley was originally touted to be berto's opponent last night but turned it down for the bigger & also tougher fight against margarito, how do you think mosley-berto would've gone if shane had been facing him & not collazo?:think
try not to use collazo as a gauge, how do you think it'd have gone just based on their respective styles.
the problem is that when you get old the hardest thing to deal with is speed, and Berto has a ton of it. Mosley still beats him
It looks like I'm the first to vote for Berto, but let me qualify that choice: I'm assuming Mosely is not as bad as he looked against Mayorga, but not as good as he was against Cotto. He's somewhere in between. Based on both of those fights, I don't think he can handle the mix of speed with snappy power Berto brings to the table. I also think Berto could bring his game to another level against a guy of Shane's ilk.
I am with ya...people are quick to **** on a guy who lost and just assume he was EXPOSED...if this question was asked after the mayorga fight it would be whitewash for berto
Yes mosley may even have a chance of knocking berto out in the late rounds as berto was letting more punches through.
I think Mosley would stop Berto. Mosley is slightly taller and longer, and has superior stamina. I thought Mosley beat Cotto, who is vastly superior to Berto. I could really see Mosley lowering the boom on Berto, even at his advanced age.
shane is a well rounded fighter overrall who happens to still have a million dollar hook to put down any top welter. berto is way to offensive minded and in love with his power. in order to beat mosley it has to be a fighter with a very good jab and very good power in order from letting shane fight them on the inside, just like forrest, cotto beat him and oscar the 2nd time(yes oscar beat him). berto hasn't shown any other aspect of his game as in defense and i knew there was going to be an exposure of some sort when he did face a world class fighter who could take his power and not respect it, exactly like collazo did. mosley dominated collazo, while berto arguably lost to him. even at this stage mosley would be too much for berto, but berto would have his moments
i'm pretty sure he would. do you think he underestimated collazo or collazo just a difficult fighter? i think both
