Regardless of who you think won that fight, and it was a close and amazing fight, the ref who scored it 116-111 for Berto should be banned from judging in professional boxing.

    Garbage scorecard. Simply disgusting.:verysad

I mean I thought Collazo won hands down, but the fight was close and I could still respect a close scorecard in Berto's favor, but 116 - 111?! You've got to be ****ing kidding me! Either the fix was in or that judge is blinder than Jim Lampley.

judges score fights round by round. They don't look back at the end of the fight and think "hmm, this was a close fight, maybe I should score this close round in favor of Collazo and this one for Berto."

    You can argue that Berto won rounds 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12 (though 1 and 4 are a stretch)

    You can also argue that Collazo won rounds 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10 (though 5 is a stretch)

Don't forget Berto also had a point deducted.

I gave Collazo round 1,3,4,6,9, 10. The point deducation in round 4 made the fight 114-113 in favour of Collazo.

That's how I had it scored - I was expecting to see either a 114-113 win for Luis, or perhaps a split decision in either Berto or Collazo's favor.....But 116-111 and a UD?

It's a shame that a great fight for the sport has to be cast into doubt because of awful judging.

Exactly , I have it the same score, fell sorry for Collazo the kid is a Though S.O.B. , now this is the 2nd time it happens to him, but sadly they are trying to hype Berto who is undefeated so.....:(

I think Berto won it in the last round. 116-111 is absurd though. If I can score it better from my couch, HBO should be mailing me a check for judging, not paying this clown who's obviously on the take.

HBO isn't in charge of paying judges.

You don't think mega-corporation HBO has influence over the people who officiate their televised events, or have a say in who is picked to judge? You're very naive.

To my knowledge that isn't how it works. HBO is in the television business, not the sports promotion business. HBO Sports is one tiny little fraction of that mega-corporation's agenda.

it just makes boxing look even more stupid than it does already.

    Sad.
