True, but he brings this on to himself by with drab fights and daft post fight comments. It will be difficult for Audley to get a credible opponent in the ring now, and with Fury’s limited experience we can’t count him as credible just yet. If the fight was to happen, and Fury wins (I think he would), an Olympic gold medallist would look great on his resume so early in his career. This fight would defiantly generate a lot of interest.
Yeah I agree - Harrison would most likely want too much £££ but it would be a smart move. He doesn't have the heart for it, and is a pretender, would most likely be easy pickings for Fury.
USA fight fan here. I've heard too much hype about Brittish based heavies. When I heard about Fury, I had to see for myself. Ok-- I just saw Fury's debut. He's not a stiff. He is a big man with fluidity in his punches, good hand speed, good accuracy and good power. For a big man, Fury goes to the body extremely well. Fury holds one hand very low, but at this stage of the game that will not matter. I hear he has never been down as an amateur. If this is true, he probably has a good chin. At age 20, Tyson Fury seems to have great potential. Since his dad was a tough person, his son cannot be that soft. I do think young Tyson Fury needs to tone up a bit though. I want to see this cat fight again.
:good Apparently he's only had a few weeks real pro training and dieting. I noticed a little improvement from his first fight to this one, in his first fight he had more tyres round his waist than a juggernaut. He was still soft in this one, but improved. I expect he will tone up a lot over the next year.
Looked great last night. will box again maybe on jon thaxton's undercard, look forward to seeing him in his next fight.
I've heard it said in passing that he has a very very good chin, no empirical evidence to back this up - but I hope it's true.
I thought tyson looked like a breath of fresh air for the british heavy scene. He throws good acurate shots and a nice jab without all the clinching usually associated with big guys. In my opinion he beats harrison already.
ok so the german guy, character or not, was fairly limited.....but this was fureys second fight.....he is spot on here..you wont see too many fighters taking on a guy with a record like that in their second fight....he is a work in progress, but given that big tall fighters like him are, usually, dull as ya like to watch and relhy on their height and reach to pepper from the outside and tie up on the inside, he is a breath of fresh air indeed in his aggression and movement, hevy handedness and willingness to go for the stoppage....il follow his progress with interest.....raw goods but lots of potential....
He looked good although a bit soft. But he's young so that's ok for the moment. Good power and handspeed for someone that big. Still needs his chin tested, especially if he is going to fight with his left hand down that low.
he speed is impressive for a guy that big, in that he moves well and has genuine hand speed. Hennesey reckons his got a granite beard.
Good win for his second pro fight!!! Does anyone know exactly how tall Fury is? I've read 6' 7", 6' 8" and 6' 9". Though, at his age, he could still grow another inch or two. Seems like he knows how to make maximum use of his height/reach. Fury had a good amateur background. Does anyone know if he was KOED as an amateur? Grebfan9 www.firstroundboxing.com
Last night, they kept saying he's 6"9 and from what I've heard he was never floored as an amateur let alone KO'd.
Looks very promising. He has all the basics with that added magic ingredient you can't train for...natural size. I hope he proves to be the real deal with a solid mush. Kind of reminds me of Gerry Cooney in stature and somewhat in style
