do the guys that say that on this site bother watching boxing in the first place? If I thought that I would not bother watching it.
You can still enjoy a boxing match while understanding that a part of boxing is corrupt. The two are not mutually exclusive.
I don't think it goes that far very often but I do think certain fighters under certain circumstances can start of with a couple a points in the bag if you know what I mean? I think a lot of bad judging is a result of subconcious bias, they know who the favorite is and look lot of his work more than they do with the other guy. Last nights fight maybe a case in point, these judges know that Berto is HBOs man and that he's supposed to win and maybe that makes them notice his work more?
First of all the terms staged and corrupt are completely two different things...... As there might be some staged fights that take place....for the most part, I think the great majority of them are between two fighters that honestly want to win against the other. So no, staged fights is not something that is a common occurence in boxing.....if it were, I'd would'nt bother watching. Corruptness is another story all to ingrained in the fabric of those who make the fights happen. When I watch a fight, I'm not only concious of the fact that there could be a phuey decision, I've come to expect it. .......Through almost 30 years of watching the sport, I've become callous to the fact that a bad decision can and likely will be handed down. I truly watch boxing because I enjoy when two fighters face off to match skills..... .....at the end of the contest, I dont let judges tell me who the winner was, it is I who will decide who the winner was and enjoy and look foward to future matchups and contest off of what I see with my own two eyes. Boxing does'nt have a problem with fights being staged, BOXING IS CORRUPT!
Boxing is like falling in love with a bad woman. She can cheat you, she can rob you, and even make you cry - but you can't forget about that ***** cuz you love her.
Because there's always the chance of a knockout, which means the (corrupt) scores won't come into play.
First of all great avatar.....he is one of the most natural comdedians of all time. Secondly....we watch because we love the sport....the corruption is out of our control.
I don't bother on these people who claims so. The sad part here is that a lot of posters in this site are not even real boxing fans. A lot knows how to use the internet and are following just few fighters and are not a real fan of the sports. And most of them have their own motives. If you're realy a fan of the sports . . . you've got to love and like the whole thing . . . including the part where we all don't agree with the judges. There's no perfect system! Corruption is always part of everything . . . but a pre-scored fight is just bull****. :deal
