De la Hoya- would he be considered an ATG if he had retired after Mayorga?

I think that a 4 division world Champion, with wins over Paez, John John Molina, Jesse James Leija (after Leija had just beat Azumah Nelson), 43-1 Rafael Ruelas, Undefated Genaro Hernandez, 41-0 Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Moving up to his 3rd division to beat the World Champion Julio Cesar Chavez, Obe Carr, Hector Camacho, the undefeated Ike Quartey, also having moved up to his 4th weight division and beating the #1 pd 4 pd fighter in the world, Pernell Whitaker.

Clearly already the resume of an ATG fighter. The rest was just icing on the cake... even what should have been a rather clear win over Trinidad, Mosley in the second fight, Vargas, Mayorga, ect...

However, my point stands, Oscar was already an ATG before he even stepped into the ring against Tito.

    oscar was never an ATG.

he's a HOF fighter and he's been a shot in the arm for boxing but you're being very naaive if you think he's a 'great' fighter.

Go find the post where I said that Wlad was an ATG... and show it to me.

I bet that I can find you a post where as early as a couple weeks ago I said that I don't list Wlad as an ATG right now.

    Thanks for playing.... you lose.

i think he has had to many loses and alot of the fights you mentioned he was pretty lucky to get the win or the guy was on the decline.

Ive got him in my 65-75 range at the moment..probably 71-72.

I think its fair considering the guys I have ahead of him...They are all greats.
