He just finished taking out Wayca in 2 rounds in a bout 147 lb in Mexico. Do you think he can earn himself a title shot against on of the belt holders? Either way I don't see him beating any of the big dogs like Margarito, Cotto, or Clottey.

Their talking about maybe going after Berto, do you think he can be competitive against him?

He looked absolutely finished against Lujan..Still dangerous to a degree but no where near the elite fighter he was.

Id love for him to retire comfortably but not at the cost of his health or his life.

    Are you kidding about Berto?
Berto would destroy JLC with his speed. I would hate to watch this fight.

Nopes . . . he'll be beaten black and blue by the young bloods in the division.

He had his great moments . . . it's time to hang it up.

Too old, too many tough fights. His body won't hold up.

hell no. it was pretty obvious when he fought hatton. he lacked steam in his punches and looked very weak. he had somewhat of a defense by crouching abit, but someone like cintron knock him right out of the ring at this point. i don't think he's even a gatekeeper since he lost to lujan, who is a good, tough fighter himself, but not close to being elite. he fought the best and beat the best in his prime, it's a shame he has to keep on fighting

he said in the post fight interview he would fight at junior welterweight, i think he still has enough, he was highly rated up until the hatton fight, where i belive he kind of took a dive

no JLC is way past his prime...at this point he is a mirror of his former self. maybe he will fight on for the money, as many fighters end up doing...but i dont see those fights at the top of the game against elite fighters. someone like berto though, would take a fight with JLC if he could, cause after last night, he knows he has to take an easy fight next time around

if he is truly hurting for money, you might have a point:think. despite him being in wars with Chico, he did KO Chico in the rematch and didn't take as much punishment as the first, but still with his style he does have that give and take style which is grueling on the body. i still think he should of beaten lujan and in his prime should of been able to beat hatton, but maybe i might be underestimating hatton. he just hasn't been impressive as of late and it's a pity a great fighter like him has to keep fighting when he should be enjoying his retirement and hang them up.
