Thing about the two fights that caught me was vs hatton it seemed that hatton controled the fight, while it was a close fight I thought that Hatton was the one dictated the pace...In the fight with Berto, I dont think that Berto did much...He held for most of the first 4 rounds, he ran away for the next two. What Im saying is I think that Collazo LET Berto have a shot at winnning the fight by doing little to nothing in 7, 8 and 9. while Hatton took the fight from him...I think that hatton won and Berto lost. I feel that Collazo got jobbed in the Berto fight, but I wouldnt have felt that way if he has won the Hatton fight. so I guess that Im saying that Berto was a rip off.. And Hatton could have gone either way.
Didn't Collazo do the hold his hands down below his waist in round 6? I had Berto winning round 1. Besides the little flurry of catching Berto off balance Berto was winning the round before that and won the rest of the round after that stunning Collazo twice. I give him the 2nd as well. Collazo took 3 and 4. 5-8 Berto 9 and 10 Collazo 11 and 12 Berto. One could argue 10-8 in Round 12.
I dont see how.....You know when you go into a fight thinking that one guy will win it always seems to tilt you towards that guy in a close fight...We as fans tend to lean towards those we pick...Which is part of the reason that I dont pick a ton of fights on boxing sites anymore...I found that it allows me to score and see fights without having to worry about my pick and people wanting to call me out on them afterwards, or having to defend it by saying or tring to prove that a certain fighter won when I really deep down didnt feel that he did.:good
I feel it could be 10-8 because I feel Collazo went down and also Berto was just beating him up that round and then the bodyshots which completely put Collazo who was almost never on the backfoot completely retreating. All in All even without the a 10-8 (I scored it 10-9) I had Berto winning.
so is Collazo really a victim of the judges? because vs Hatton and vs Berto both really look like blown opportunities for Luis to capitalize on the fights eze, similar to your scorecard only diff I had Luis winning round 1 but everything else same .. tallies to 114-113 for Berto. still not a robbery
you can say what you want but a close fight is gonna come down to the fighters and even Harold Lederman had Berto winning the last 2 rounds. it was competitive and a hell of a fight, but why a rematch, Luis will just blow it again.
Everyones going to think so but they are going to say anything in a close fight. I dont think HBOs hype had anything to do with it. If anything with the way HBO wants to bring only good fights they would give the edge to Collazo and force a rematch.
well I saw the fight today, without all the pre fight crap and I still though Berto won. and fair enough about the pre fight hype being a bit out of place and over dramatic but popular or not, Andre still won the last 2 rounds of the fight and I already had him winning rounds 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 and that would make him a 114-113 winner.
Collazo beat Berto by a bigger margin than Hatton. Even Berto's father had Collazo winning the fight before the end came, he yelled that Berto had to win by knockout, was way too far behind. Ledermann's card was fair, but I have no doubt that Collazo won that fight.
He also told Berto in the ring after the fight "No matter what happens, I still Love you" That translates to a guy that thought the had just watched his son lose his first fight.
