I'm going to tell you something that you may or may not know about fighters. Fighters know when they have lost. Fighters know when a fight is close, and that the fight could go either way...and fighters also know when they've won. Berto was confident he won imo.
I've been watching boxing too long to hang on to what a father or fans say after a fight if they think their son/charge has lost. Body language, words do not judge fights. I respect your thoughts though.
P, what's good? Anyway P Pop Dukes might've been influenced by the fans also. Those words he uttered in itself imo are motivation. If the fight was close to many of us, then why would the father...who is at ringside think his son needed a ko? It's either that he truly thinks his son was dominated, or he wanted his son to win the 12th big imo. Collazo had a great chance to win. All he had to do was win the 12th round. If you sit ringside at a fight, I'm telling you...if two guys hit each other the same amount of times...one guy is the boxer, the other is the puncher, the harder puncher usually wins those close fights. I bet if Collazo's defense was better he wins the fight. Collazo's body language after he was hurt badly in the 12th by those body shots sealed the deal for Berto. When I heard the pathetic 116-111 score, I knew Berto won.
Not with me. I know that those who said Berto would give Floyd a fight were bugging the hell out lol...
Even Berto's fathere said that his son needed a knockout to win the fight! He yelled it before the fight ended! I agree with Harold Ledermann's score, actually, I had Collazo winning by an even bigger margin.
Maybe his dad said that to motivate his son, I doubt his dad meant it, but you'll never know. But sometimes, body language after a fight can tell you who won. Like after the PBF vs Ta Ta fight, PBF raised his hands high, Ta Ta was walking with his head down. You see where I'm getting at?
I wait until the winner is announced, that's all. I'n being honest. I could care less what anyone outside the ring thinks.
I can see no way that Berto won, but what will Berto do in he fights, Margarito, Mosely, Cotto or even Williams? He will get knocked out.
That aint fair either, just because the judges thought Pernell vs JCC was a draw, was it really a draw just because the judges said so?
You're asking too easy a question. That wasn't a close fight. Berto-Collazo was a close fight. Waiting for the winner to be announced is one thing, caring what Dad's say before round 12 to their son is another.
I just finished rewatching the fight and I have revised my scorecards to 6-6 with Collazo winning 114-113. Here's how I scored the fight: Berto 9/10/ 9/ 8/10/ 9/10/10/ 9/ 9/10/10 = 113 Collazo 10/ 9/10/10/ 9/10/ 9/ 9/10/10/ 9/ 9 = 114 According to my card Collazo had a 3 point lead going into the 11th rd which meant Berto needed to win both of the remaining rounds and score at least 1 KD to catch up.
I disagree. His initial body language after the 12th round, his immediate reaction to the decision announcement, and his father's emotional consultation leads me to believe otherwise.
