Also Manny could lose a lot of fans if he doesnt take this fight over the money. It's a fight the fans all want to see.

While Hatton probably needs Manny - more than Manny needs
Hatton - in terms of big money fights out there atm.
I believe that Manny does have more to lose, if this fight doesnt
    go ahead - fanbase wise.

Hattons fans will back him to the hilt, they are loyal followers -
backed up by how many of them are willing to follow Ricky
wherever he fights, so If Ricky plays hardball and it gets called
off - then his fans will cop that sweet and back him.

Pac doesnt quite have that loyalty yet, a lot of his fans seem
to have only jumped on in the past yr or so, so he cant afford
to let them down - they are pumped atm, Im sure most Pac
fans believe that he is the drawcard and all that who-ha, but
unless this fight goes ahead, being a drawcard means zip..

Agreed, there isn't many options for Hatton. Cotto could have been a possibility but he is tied up for the rest of the year.
Hatton could clean up 140 but Holt and Bradley dont bring much money.
A Marquez fight possibly but i think thats who Pac will go after if the Hatton fight doesn't happen. I think Marquez would pic a Pac fight. Although Marquez would be lucky to get 30%, against Hatton he would get 40-50%
Thinking about it i dont think Pac options are much better if we assume that Pac wont fight below 140.

Most of the elite names who could guarantee a payday have their dance cards full until at least the back end of this year.

    Just make the fight already!

How can it be between 70 and 200??!! the high end estimate is nearly TRIPLE the low end. That difference is massive and no honest journalist would quote such figures. That would be like an economist saying the world recession is likely to last 3.5 to 10 years, or an architect saying the cost of the new bridge will be between 14 and 40 million. Any other professional who gave such a range would be laughed at.

This range is speculation and clearly not based in fact.

if you don't like it don't click on them, and posting in them just bumps them. that's how forums work, threads that people are interested in stay at the top.

hmm.... prob is the british boxing press seems to make no mention of the official hatton-malignaggi UK PPV numbers anywhere. are they hiding it? did team hatton request them that the figures be withheld from the public?

that's why we have to rely on third-party sources like studies and research done by other boxing media not from the UK. to end all speculation regarding this, they (team hatton and the UK boxing press) should finally release the official UK PPV figures for that fight.

Don't get lost in the Hype people!

Give due respect to Pacquaio . . . the guy doesn't need much money anymore . . . it's about respect and bragging rights. The guy is the #1 P4P FIGHTER . . . for christ sake and he has the right to demand what he thinks he is worth.

Check this if you will : http://www.thering-online.com/ratings/

If this fight doesn't happen Pacquiao will remain the P4P #1 . . . SO BE IT! And Hatton can keep his Ring belt and remain #10 IN THE p4p list.

Pacquaio +267 weeks on the list; Hatton 8 weeks :D

    Who needs who? :deal

you do realise that arum would have had the ppv figures when agreeing to the 50:50 split don't you? i'm guessing that sky don't like ppv figures being published as it's commercially sensitive info. if setanta know how much money sky are making on hatton fights, they can bid accordingly.

yeah but hatton only dropped out after the laczano fight i think, so he wasn't out for long, and was he in since the koysta fight before that? but either way granted pacs allways been higher.
