Let the public speak: should it be Pavlik-Sturm or Pavlik-Abraham?

Uh,by accident I voted for Pavlik vs Sturm.
Ts!Ts! Of course Pavlik vs AA is THE fight at middle weight at present.

Who cares for Sturm vs Pavlik if Pavlik vs AA can be staged??

 

Amen. Sturm is running scared.

 

I'm well aware that voting for Sturm puts me in the minority, but if it was all up to me we would see Pavlik/Strum with a co-feature that put Abraham against the winner of Williams/Wright. Do this in July.

And then have Pav/AA in November. Arthur/Winky might be a real snooze fest stylistically, but if AA came in fesh off a win over Winky and the IBF title in hand, and Pav came in as the WBC/WBA/WBO/Ring champion, that fight would be ****ing HUGE!!

 

You're thinking smart too, but a whole lot can go wrong in between now and then, because in every match up you just insisted, both men have a chance at winning. Second, I dont know how long Pav & AA will be in the MW division, but I think 09 is the last year for both

Sounds good,your post,yes,it does. However,both AA and Pavlik are in their primes right now. Now is the time to stage their fight. 11 months is a bloody long time in the paid ranks. A lot of thinks can happen in the meantime.

Sturm can't keep Kelly off of him for 12 rounds, and I don't think he has the pop to ever really hurt KP, but it's boxing, and anything can happen.

If Winky beat Williams, we would no for sure that he is no where near shot. That would mean I would give him a good chance of beating AA. If this happened, and we ended up with Pavlik/Wright, we would get to see KP fight someone he seems to have a serious resentment against, and THAT might be fun!

It is, but if this thing gets the build up it should get, we might see an upset along the way.

I think my main point is that as soon as Pavlik/Abraham happens, no one will give a **** about these other fights. Legacy wise it would be better for both KP and AA to come in fresh off a good win with all the titles in play.

Definetely. And I think if these 2 fight eachother, no one will even care about Sturm anymore and everyone will look at Sturm as a scarry fighter. Then AA & KP will move up, Sturm will stay down, and Sturm will say KP & AA ducked him, thats why they moved up. Then hopefully Winky or PW beats Sturm just to shut that dude up.

 

Well -- in the scenario I laid out AA would face the winner of Williams/Wright with Pavlik/Strum on the same card. Assuming Winky looks good, no matter who wins between Willimas/wright, Arthur gets a win that is good as gold.

 

Right on. OR the other way around. Sturm seems to be willing to fight Pavlik now (could have something to do with Mundine being his mando), and a chance to get that belt out of the freeze up, should be taken.

Whether by Pavlik or AA, when Pavlik and AA meets (which is what EVERY BODY wants), it will truly be for all the marbles including RING.
