Quit on his stool. [YT]tmjOWy22w68[/YT] [YT]vD7r4Q72PM8[/YT] That is not a gassed fighter my friends but rather one who couldnt handle the pressure. Most gassed fighters usually stumble around the ring for a round or two and clearly shows signs of fatigue before they cant continue.Alexeev looked fine in the 8th and going into the 9th.Looks to me like this ATG P4P HOF'er just didnt want to be in there anymore.
No he looked tired from round 5 or 6 and couldN't protect himslef from the most time in round 9. SO you are stupid.
Saying "Alexeev just had bad stamina" is dumb, that is basically giving zero credit to Vic Ramirez, who fought his ass off and brought the pain every minute of every round. Obviously, Alexeev's stamina and the pressure of Ramirez were both factors in the stoppage. Watching the second youtube clip, Alexeev still has a lot of bounce in his step in the 8th and 9th. He just loses all heart when Ramirez unwinds powershots to his body and face. IMO the pressure and power of Ramirez were the primary reason that did Alexeev in. He goes 12 rounds with any lesser of an opponent, easy.
It was clear to me that Alexeev doesn't understand how to fight on the inside. A lot of stellar amateurs come to the pro ranks with this deficiency. I'm willing to accept that stamina played a role because inside fighting is rugged and can sap your energy. But that said when you don't even know how to properly clinch an opponent to stop an onslaught of inside punches you're always going to have problems making to the final bell. Alexeev is definitely talented. He just needs to learn the inside game.
The only reason Alexeev losing is making so much noise is that he has so many nuthuggers out there. If it wasnt for that nobody would really care. But there were too many posters raving about this guy like he is God's gift to boxing, that it's almost nice to see him lose to a no-name.
Same observatins as me.He had plenty of bounce in the 8th and beggining of the 9th.From what i read Ramirez hurt Alexeev in the 5th of 6th with a body shot.He broke Alexeev down and made him quit. Alexeev does good work in the middle of the ring when his opponent does nothing but stand there and wait for him get his shots off.As soon as you get in his face or make him back up he is ineffective. Alex thought this guy would buckle like the rest of his opponents but gave up mentally once he saw this guy wasnt going anywhere.
So basically you're happy that the most interesting prospect in the cruiserweight division or even the most interesting prospect in the world bar none is upset because you have a polish cruiserweight champion? Basically, you're pathetic.
:| No just clearing the air.:thumbsup I went by what i read here that Alexeev simply gassed. After reviewing the video(the camera never lies)i saw that a little more took place then was lead to believe.
Who is to say? Alexeev looks/looked to have better fundamental skills and more discipline, and besides, Gamboa has a lot of doubters. Anywho, I never said he was the best prospect, I said that he may have been, and he may still be the best prospect, I really like his fundamental skills, his power and his balance. I am disgusted how some of you people are happy and satisfied that he lost to an unknown argentinian fighter that has a loss on his record, if anything.. an Alexander Alexeev with an unblemished record would've been a better addition to the immediate cruiserweight division.
Since when are losses such a bad thing? There is way too much emphasis on the '0' in boxing today. Ramirez is an exciting fighter and many think he has the tools to trouble Enzo Macc. We will see. As to Alexeev, if he did not have nuthuggers stating he would KO all the top 10 Cruisers already, as early as last year, and that he was a top 10 P4Per in the very near future, nobody would be rejoicing except for Latino boxing fans.
I didnt get that comment either.Too stuck on that"0".Everybody loses it's just a matter of how and when it happens and how you can bounce back from it.
The 0 makes things more marketable, period. Who knows what Ramirez will amount to.. we're not talking about that. Nobody said that he would be a top P4P'er, there was hopes for him to enter the top P4P- tier in the near future, as his tools are definitely worthy of such a prediction. Don't act like you didn't gloat in his defeat, you did... and it's disgusting. Your hate for the guy is uncalled for.. he's still a great talent and I believe he'll be back stronger.
