Let the public speak: should it be Pavlik-Sturm or Pavlik-Abraham?

I hate to sound broken record, but his KO 6 over Marquez is a much better win than people around here seem to be thinking it was.

Sturm probably won't fight him, so its going to be Arthur Abraham, which is the fight we all want to see anyways.

I can only assume you're a 12 year old girl from Germany. No one else would make the post above.

Undoubtedly. Look at the people he has boxed lately to keep his skills in top shape. ALL better than Taylor. :rofl

The irony here is that Sturm IS a better pure boxer than KP or AA. He's just not good enough to keep either one from catching him. Once he gets hit with an Abraham bazooka, or gets trapped on the ropes by Pavlik, it's OVAAAAAH!

Yep. He's not on there levels, power and size is too much of a factor. I would've liked to see Sturm fight at 154 during most of his career, but to each his own.

Well, to be honest, Sturm looked awesome vs. Sylvester, a very high caliber opponent. It was the best MW win last year from any fighter. Sturm is seemingly one of the fighters who's better when the competition is better, easily beat DLH and vs. Sylvester, he showed on top defense, fantastic popping jab and great stamina. I think he gives a tough fight to both KP and AA, maybe a bit tougher to AA, because he has the better jab.

But back to the topic: AA won't stay at MW for long, so no need for stupid double-header (at this point). If HBO was interested in such a thing, it would've suggested to put AA-Marquez on the upcoming KP card, but they never showed interest even for a tape delay broadcast. They named AA dozens of times during Hopkins-Pavlik, so the interest is there, but it seems they'd be happy to skip the double-header part and go straight for KP-AA (if the Williams fight is not available for the summer).

So bring on Kelly vs. King Arthur first, and if he wins, Abraham will have the titles to force Sturm into a German superfight or if he loses, he might take it for less money, on Universum turf. But Pavlik-Sturm makes no sense at all, no public demand, no bad blood, no historical perspective, no HBO interest - just a much lower risk, and that doesn't make Team Pavlik look good.

    Wow, we have 2 votes on Pavlik-Sturm. I guess it's not gonna be a shut-out, only a 98-2 split! :D
