Hatton should walk away from this fight! Let the greedy ****er fight someone that has half the draw of Hatton.
I'm not sure how good the advice is that he's getting. If this Salud guy has taken this long to understand a fundamental basic fact like the UK PPV money is a massive part of the purse, who knows what other BS he's hearing or facts that are getting distorted/ omitted?
I dont dwell too much on the technical details of this negotioation because I will not receive a penny from these people. Let them sweat it out. I just wanna eat the steak, I dont wanna know how they slaughter the cow. But I do have a feeling that the fight will go on as scheduled.
Pacquiao may be a national treasure and boxing icon, but he still operates like a street punk. Wasn't it some cheesy 'briefcase full of money' that got everyone upset between Top Rank and Golden Boy awhile back? He likes stupid **** like that. He shouldn't go so far out of his way to prove he has no true place at any bargaining table. This isn't one of his action movies.
For negotiating purposes with Mayweather? Well if the result of the fight is a foregone conclusion then what's the point in it. Send the greedy little **** straight onto mayweathers negotiating table and let hatton take his pulling power elsewhere. It's gonna be his last couple of fights too! Regardless of what Pacquiao has done in recent years, hatton is still currently the man at 140.
I read a book on Don King a while back and if he knew he was going to lose a multi million dollar lawsuit to a boxer he'd just go to see them with a briefcase with a few $100K in it and the boxer would drop the lawsuit and take the cash every time. I'm pretty sure he pulled that stunt with Ali after the Holmes fight.
Hatton should walk away and put an offer forward to Juan Manuel Marquez or start negotiations with a hydrated DelaHoya to meet at a catch weight of 150lb maybe. You know DelaHoya will still be PPV king!
Yeah. He's been acting in the Philippines on the side, since the late 1990's. Bit parts or sidekick to the action star in the beginning, then he made a couple of boxing themed movies a bit later. He produced 1 or 2 of his own movies too, some time ago, when he's already world famous. Not super successful films, but I think some people watched his self produced movies. I think it's something natural to him, being a showman. It comes out even on top of the boxing ring. Fights to please the fans.
They're all crap movies, btw. B movies, even by Philippine standards. But he's happy making them, so let him do what he wants to do. Film tickets cost about US$2.00 per person in the Philippines, anyway. Cheap, time wasters.
