This just in: Larsens handler Chris Meyer has offered 1.000.000 to Palle and Kessler for the Larsen match-up if Sauerland handles the promotion. Palle however wants to control the event himself, and Meyer mentions a co-promotion as a possibility. Meyer states, that he has negotiated with Palle before (Larsen - Ottke, Kessler - Beyer), and says: "With Mogens it is never easy, but almost always possible!" :rofl:rofl
Absolute crap fight. Kessler's career is going downhill by the minute. He is still young enough to turn it around, let's hope he ditches Palle and does so.
Not a good fight for Kessler, but if it can get him free of M.Palle, as the newspapers etc. suggest, then just KO Mr. Larsen ASAP and get it over with. After that bye bye Palle and hopefully someone at the same level as Kessler will dare take a fight with him.
Just get it over with. But who says Kessler is better off without Palle? Yeah, he screwed up with the Miranda fight, and he's all about the money (which is why he dumped the Miranda and Dawson and Johnson fights), but so are the other promoters, and who else could put enough money on the table for some big name (if there are any these days) to fight him?
make the fight and move on. im stil mad at people who still think that kessler ducked miranda. The fight was never going to happent anyway miranda is an overhyped boxer who only is nown 4 his big mouth.
1,000,000 doesn't seem to bad especially if Kessler gets rid of his promoter for taking the fight. Get it over with then he can get a known fighter in the US later this year.
I think so ,too. Little risk, high reward for Kessler. At this stage of his career Larsen is surely past his prime and shouldnt be an outstandingly dangerous threat to Kessler. Whats more Kessler will get valuable tv exposure on a German tv enhancing his future markebility outside his native Denmark. Furthermore Kessler will certainly earn more bucks against Larsen than he did against Sartison or some of his other opponents.
That ain't true...this will make big PPV numbers in Denmark and therefore won't be aired in Germany at all (maybe a 5 min report but that's it!)...
I have a strong feeling, that Mikkel Kessler is actually trying to leave Mogens Palle for Team Sauerland these days. Forget about the American promotors. The money lies in Germany with the lucrative TV-deals. Sauerland is also backed by Danish tv-station TV 2. The channel would love to make bussiness with Sauerland and fight off old arch-rival Palle. And the Germans would love to enter the Danish market too. I don't think it's a wise strategy. Infact I think Kessler should stay with Palle.
