It would be reasonable if it were on HBO, but Showtime has less money I believe. Depends on their normal payout. Froch won a vacant belt by beating another prospect, nothing great just a beltholder. How much is Showtime giving Adamek or Darchynian for their defenses?

$1Million is a very reasonable offer from a WBC Champion considering Pavlik got paid around $600,000 as a Challenger to Taylor, before he lost the cheque that is.

It's not unreasonable if HBO was willing to buy the fight, but it's not. Heck, it might even be reasonable if Showtime was willing to buy the fight, but almost everything I'm reading says they've already been offered the fight and turned it down. But if they're just relying on the live gate, then I don't know that the fight would make enough to be able to guarantee that much money to either fighter.

I think you need to keep up to date with the exchange rate changes.

1m purse would be okay ... there have been fights on Showtime with purses bigger than 1m ...

Taylor has a big name and i'm sure that they can make that kinda money possible --

Maybe it can work out --

I would like to see that fight and maybe they can offer it on PPV for 24.99 add some other good fights on there to boost up the card.

Spinks v Latimore would be a good start ... Spinks is well known and i'm sure that people have heard of Latimore ... especially in NY ...

Maybe throw in Devon Alexander ... and some other fighters from DBE1 and/or DKP.

Ok, you got me - though 700k is an ok purse considering that Taylor has a value in the US and why should Froch as the champ sell himself up short?

Like I said, he is a title holder, not a champion. He didn't beat a champion. Froch seriously wants a payday and he is not likely to have the paper long.

    Froch doesn't want it.

He's not worth half a million at this point.

Froch doesn't get a choice whether he wants it or not.

He doesn't have to get a say what purse he gets, or where the fight is.

    Taylor is the mandatory contender.

All Dibella has to do is bid more money than Hennessy and he can have the fight where he wants it and Froch gets the share due to him.

Do you think Froch would vacate the title rather than take the fight if Dibella won a pursebid that would give Froch less than a million? Of course not.

A $1 million purse for the title holder to travel to the challengers home country seems reasonable to me.
