A 'token' Aussie.... "a cow born in a horses stable, is still a cow" We're happy to take him as our own... Same as 'Fammo'.. lol.
Why the hell Fammo had to fight Saldivar was terrible.. I guess Fammo had a limited life span at the top... Hardly a crowd pleaser, stylistically, there must have been room for a few more challenges before his retirement... The arguements regarding the Saldivar decision raged for a long time, yet Johnny refused to return. A true champ... both in and out of the ring... and a bigger fighter in current life.
None. Ambrose Palmer apparently used to say "I don't do amateurs, if you want to fight amateurs you'll have to go somewhere else". For that reason Fammo, Ferreri and others went straight into the pros and never fought amateurs.
So Ferrari just picked up the gloves at 20 and went straight to the pros? Amazing...He stayed unbeaten for 28 fights.
Close mate.. in material weight only...... The first time asking this, I mentioned a V.F.L club guernsey........ As far as Fammo's technical skills go, this fight was the definate moment he showed evasive brilliance... Prior to Legra.. It was Don johnson who wore the guernsey...
