Arum might force PacMan to sit out 2009 - or fight Valero for $2M

In an interview Arum said if PacMan doesn't send the signed copy in just a few hours, Team Hatton will announce a new fight, most probably Ricky vs. the JMM-Diaz winner in the Summer, in the UK.

Arum also said, that Pacman "might just have to sit out the rest of the year.", which would be very funny. Manny Pacquiao could do another weight-losing contest on 55-45 or even 60-40 terms, or give new interviews how he would beat Margarito, which is a fight now many people would want to see.

You know what's ironic? Behind the scenes both Team Hatton and Team Pacquiao started negotiations with Mayweather's main guy, Leonard Ellerbe. For Pacquiao, Ellerbe made it clear: it's 60-40 or no fight. On the other end of the stick, eh? :D

Update. Roach said if Hatton fight is a no go, PacMan will probably fight Valero for $2M, instead of Hatton for $15M.

So his stupid demands for a few hundred thousands will cost him $13, and will get 13% of the Hatton money. Good advisors he has.

how about hatton? it was 70/30 before. it will probably be around 80/20 this time and mayweather also getting probably 50% or more of the UK PPVs while still retaining all of this US PPVs. that's the price hatton pays by getting KTFO'd by mayweather and not fighting pac to enhance his bargaining position in a mayweather rematch.

in short, hatton will get peanuts vs. mayweather compared to pac who will get 40% or more of everything. even w/o their pac-hatton fight, pac will make much more money in a mayweather fight compared to hatton in a pbf rematch.

    :D

Hatton has alredy fought Mayweather and doesn't need him, he can make huge money fighting the JMM/Diaz winner in the UK. He made more money than Mayweather anyway, thx to the UK PPV share. PacMan needs Mayweather as I don't see any other superfight left. And to do it, he has to accept 40, maybe 45, making a lot less than Hatton did. So in the end, he would've made more fighting Hatton than he'd make fighting Mayweather, and Hatton is the easier task.

Wow, Pacquiao knows how to handle his career.

actually mayweather made more w/ the 850k US PPVs @$50 each vs. hatton with his 1.25 UK PPVs @$22 each. add that to their 70/30 guaranteed purse split, then mayweather therefore made more money.

hmm... i wonder who jmm prefers fighting pac or hatton? jmm already mentioned that he's taking the diaz fight and plans to win it so he can get another shot at pac. i've never heard jmm mention hatton's name even once as a possible opponent.

£15 was not equal to $22 when Hatton fought Mayweather.

Which is why there were so many more Brits over for that one than for the Malignaggi fight.

    Dam I laughed.

Hope he actually does have to sit out all of 2009 for being such a greedy *****.

Avoided Marquez 3 to go chasing the money against DLH, now he gets a chance for his biggest ever payday and acts like a spoilt brat.

The arguement that because he's p4p #1 he deserves more is a joke. Mayweather was #1 p4p when he faced DLH but got no where near what Oscar got for that fight. Same applies here, Hatton is the draw, Hatton brings the fans, Hatton brings the most money nevermind who's #1 or not.

    Some people...

I'm sure Hatton kept the UK PPV cash.

UK PPV cash + 30% of US PPV cash is more than 70% of US Cash

No. Hatton made more, and that's a fact. Use google. Or not. I don't care.

Chert sounds really really upset by all this.

I'm starting to think he actually is one of the hookers that Pacquaio wouldn't be able to afford to pay with a measly 52% of eleventy billion dollars....

no. it is you hatton fans are the ones who are upset. hatton lost a chance to beat the #1 p4p fighter and greatly increase his legacy, possibly landing him finally as an ATG of this sport like pac is now.

and it's pathetic that you are finally resorting to name-calling and ad hominum comments.... tsk...tsk..tsk... :-(

No he didnt, there was a post made here a few days ago explaining how Mayweather and Hatton eventually settled for Mayweather getting the bigger guarantee 70/30 of US ppv but Hatton keeping all of the UK ppv.

No one expected the UK ppv numbers to be so high.

At the end of the day who cares, they both made big money.

I'm not that much of a Hatton fan, mate, other than I like to follow most British fighters. Couple of months ago that would have been the only reason I would support Hatton over Pacquiao, who I rate a better fighter and have always been a fan of.

If you gave me a choice between Hatton fighting Pacquiao in Las Vegas and JMM in a British stadium, I'd take the latter. I have this funny notion that boxing is a sport and so should be conducted where people want to see it, not as a casino sideshow for people to glance up from the roulette table for, see.

That was my view before the greedy little pinoy **** started whingeing his way through the internet about how getting paid 4000 times the annual Filipino family income for one fight wasn't enough for his needs.
